Mayo for Hair?

It's not a secret anymore. Lots of women are using mayo as a homemade hair conditioner. It can make your hair very shiny and soft. But it's not working for me. Although it did made my hair shiny and soft. But the smell is awful. My hair is too thick for the mayo trick, and I mean thick! I've had at least 4-5 showers before the smell vanished. I massaged my roots vigorously, I scrubbed my head several times, I even used almost half of the shampoo bottle. It did made my hair shiny and soft, but I don't think I'll do it again. My hair is too thick for mayo. I'll just stick with hot oil. LOL.

Hey,Sophiaraine! I never tried using mayo for my hair, although I did hear about that in college. I think the best way to get gorgeous, shiny hair is to eat healthy. My hair looks its best whenever I had fish (rich in protein!) or tofu in my meal. I really don't do much treatments for my hair. I tried to before, but I have sensitive skin and scalp, so they end up oilier and bunched up together. I end up getting dandruff that way. So I'd rather not do that again. I just wash my hair with shampoo (I use lactacyd blue sometimes), but I dilute it with a little water. Some shampoos are harsh and they end up giving you the opposite effect of what you're trying to achieve.

Hey bunny. Yup, the key to a shiny, soft hair is eating healthy. I'm sorry that your hair is too sensitive for treatments. But treatments can maintain your hair's natural beauty. I don't like salon treatments. They're full of chemicals that can damage your hair's keratin (protective layer of hair). The mayo is a natural treatment for hair since it has no chemicals and it is made from eggs which are high in protein. Try a very light natural treatment for your hair. You can find this natural ingredients in almost every household. Have a nice day!

I totally agree with you. We had the same experience. It does moisturize your hair and makes it shiny but the smell it just unbearable and it doesn't go away. Not to mention it's too messy to apply. I would rather have a hair spa. It is a costly compared to mayo but your hair is shiny and at the same time it smells great.
