why can't Americans and the rest of the world live in peace?

i've been reading the papers, watching the news, and keeping up with the updates at CNN and other news channels. it seems like everyone is constantly harassing and killing each other almost everyday. and for the longest time its like American government are always taking matters into their own hands. Please don't get me wrong, I don't hate America or anything like that. My best friends are Americans and I love them dearly. But is this violent, suspicious and persecution that is constantly going on getting us anywhere? It just seems to make matters worst every day. This isn't the kind of environment i'd want to bring my kids into. Why can't Americans and the rest of the world live in peace?
