I think you might need to reset the BIOS EEPROM so that the password will be reset. I used to working on a IBM thinkpad last time. However, it was 6 to 7 years ago and I forget the exact details how to do that. Besides, I think the latest model that you are using might be different from the model that I was using. Resetting the BIOS won't affect the hard disk content. If you really can't reset it yourself, you can send it to the computer shop and they will be able to help you on that. Good luck and have a nice day!

Well you need to dissemble the cover and look for the BIOS. I also forget the exact location of that BIOS. Therefore, I think you need to send it to shop for their help. So sorry that the most I know is this.

I just did a search in the internet. Found out this link, I hope it can help to resolve your problem: http://www.topbits.com/reset-ibm-thinkpad-bios-password.html It need you to remove the DIMM cover and short the two password pads. Unfortunately it didn't show where is the DIMM cover and password pads location with a diagram LoL. Here is another site showing the steps. No illustration either: http://www.rolo.org/ibm-thinkpad-bios-password.html Hope they help.
