What happens to lawsuit victims?

I always wonder what happens to people who get sued for unjust things like car accidents, or in-home injuries, etc. Very few people are rich enough to afford the legalized theft of the large sums of money that are stolen from them by the lawsuuits. So I figured that probably these victims lose their homes and cars, and everything they worked hard for all their lives. I wonder if their whole lives are irrevocably ruined, or is anyone has ever triumphed over the injustice and eventually became successful again. It is very unfortunate that people in this country and in the world actually stoop so low as to get rich by the "legal" theft of someone else's hard-earned property, rather tahn trying to work for their own success. It is especially unjust when someone sues for intangibles like "pain and suffering." How do you put a price on intangibles? It is also despicable when people reduce their deceased "loved ones" to dollar signs.

Well, there could be fines that can be sued to with the cost equal to the damages done to the opposing party. It can be paid by cash or by material things.

Im glad to see this discussion, as I often wonder the same thing, it drives me insane with all these people who sue over anything, if I fell over or slipped somewhere I would blame my own stupid feet (or shoes), I wouldnt be looking for who I could sue for this, I know a few people who are suing right now for different things, 2 people are suing for valid reasons, they have suffered and have lost earnings due to something that wasnt their fault, 2 other people that I know are suing for silly reasons, one person has actually invented an injury, this annoys me. If someone has suffered then fair enough, go sue, if you havent suffered and just looking for some money then get lost, go get a job and work for your money. I always wonder if people end up losing their jobs, Im sure there are some people who end up in lots of fiancial trouble. Its a pity and it seems to be the way the world is going!
