True Love

What is true love? I would like to hear others oppenions on this. For me I can only believe very few have true love. If you say I love this person but not this other person then how can you have true love? Likewise one can say I love all of humanity, but I do not love the trees, ants, birds and all, how is this true love? For me true love can only be expressed in love for all of God's creation, If I love God, then I must love everything that he has made, is this not true love?

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."1 Corinthians 13:4

Yes Paul gave an excellent description of love. Then I take it that you also agree with him?

You can say I love this person but not this person because it's true. I think of true love as loving someone enough love that you can stand alot of habits that you maybe usually don't like. it',s sacrificing because you love that person,or pet or whatever. True love lasts during hard times and happy times. At least that's what I think.

Most of us love other because he or she also loves us in return. In all types of so- called there is this element of selfishness is involved. Loving someone who does not love you; or better still loving your enemy is true love.

In all we do it is selfishness that drives us. Every action we make is from our selfishness or our ego. If I am setting and my leg falls asleep my body moves to relieve the discomfort, if it were not for ego we would do nothing. but true love is outside the ego. If all I do is act out of love for all, then I have slain my selfishness. Because true love does not need to be rewarded, nor is true love expecting. If we do what is right only because it is right to do so then we act in love, if we surrender all to LOVE which is God then we have lived in love. Love has no enemies, If a man has animosity against me, but I do what is right and I love that person, then he is not an enemy that I love, but my brother, because love knows no difference, and is not a respecter of persons, even if he does not return that love.

True love maybe beyond our comprehension as humans. True love is not like to love your couple, children, or relatives, friends. True love best define as your love to all living things without any condition (agape). You can accept them as they are. The way is like God accept us all, sinful humans.
