I'm the passive type so I'll usually wait for someone to approach. Most of the time, I'm perfectly fine being alone. However, if the person beside/near me looks nice enough, I might just strike a conversation with him/her.

I can go wherever I want to go even on my own not because I am a loner but because I know I can gain friends anywhere I go.Sometimes I do not approach people and just wait for someone to do that to me and sometimes love to greet hi and hello to anyone that I feel that person is also friendly. I am a very cheerful person and I am very open to anyone that will ask something and will gain friends. When I open a conversation to a certain person sometimes I ask her/him "how she/he do that" or try to open a conversation with a general topic like "if she's /he is in the place for so long" and that is the start of a new found friendship and no boring waiting.

A big smile. I approach anyone with a pleasant smile. And, I have managed in places where there is a problem of language. But, I was always able to get the best to eat, the best place to rest. And, i used to get utmost respect too. And, the funniest thing about smiling attitude and being warm is, I have managed to move and roam about in an ethnically disturbed area, without having to resort to any other systems of security. A smile is all that I carried.

Usually even when I am alone somewhere I talk to even some strangers whom I may find not dangerous. I talk about the weather which has always been a very good topic or simply I smile to them and then one will definitely sense that I am not arrogant and they will talk themselves. So I have never got any problem to approach people no matter where.

Well i would not feel much free to talk easily. I would hesitate sometime and then slowly go and talk asking details.

Hello allamgirl, It actually depends on situation..sometimes I am the one who approach people & sometimes I just wait to be approached. In times where I approach people..I ask them first how they are and ask questions..like is this your first time here?...how do you find the place...& if we are in a party & both are friends of host, then would say great part isn't it..& that would actually start a conversation right away...
