Hi myLotters! Help! I'm a bit torn. It's my last year in college, and throughout my four years in college, I've never had any extra curricular involvements. I used to be active back in high school, but when I reached college, everything just stopped. I want to be part of the student government now that it's my last year. I feel like I need this, or else I might not go forward. But then, I'm afraid of what people would think, coz people from my school never seen me active at school. They might think I would not be effective. What would you do if you were in my position?

hi nixiecole, If I were you, I would take that challenge. It would be a great experience if you would be a part of the student government in your school. Eventhough you are in the last year in college, you can prove something to them. It is that you were able to take the responsibilities as officer of the student government and you will do your best for it.

thanks so much annierose. I hope I could get this part. Thanks for the encouragement. I never really considered proving something to others, I was doing this for me. But now that you've mentioned it, I also have to prove something to them. :)

I reckon you should go for it - it's never too late to get involved. Be confident, tell yourself that you're smart, capable and the best person for the job. Give it a shot and apply and see what happens. Also, if you have time on your hands - join a sports team, go volunteering, get involved. It's your last year at college, so make the best of it.
