help me out friends.my friends birthday is on 6th this month and i have not yet decided what to busy for him.he will turn 18 this month.he is somewhat very intelligent guy.not exactly a nerd.i should take all this into consideration and buy a gift.i really want him to like it because it maybe the last birthday we both will ever celebrate together because our high school is over and now we will start going to colleges and there is very slim chance that we both will be in same college.therefore,i want to buy him a very cute present that will remain with him forever i guess.no matter what the gift is please do give me suggestions.thanks.

I'm a boy about your boyfriend age, and if it's my birthday, i would like to receive gifts that are useful for me. Books could be good for your boyfriend or if he likes to play computers, maybe you can buy him CD games, As long as you add a little element of surprise to the gifts, your boyfriend will remember it. But from your description about your boyfriend, i don't think he will like watch, clothes, and fashion things. Just guessing:) Hope that helps.

What else do you know about him aside from being smart? List down his hobbies and interests and see which items he needs for his hobbies. Since you're graduating high school and going to college, may be something that will remind him of home or your friendship would be nice.

Hi antony,I do understand how hard it is to choose the best present for our best friend. Well, for me whenever I bought the presents for my best friends and my sister I always choose the best. I mean something that fit with them, they do love it and it will remain forever. The present that I suggest to you is pen (nice one like parker), and watch. For sure these items are remain forever as much as your true friendship

Well now, buying for a guy is hard to do. They won't tell you what they want. They won't tell you what they need. As a girl that wants to be an important part of his life it's equally important hat you get him something that he will remember you for and think, "wow, she got me this...I don't believe it. And then he will want to keep it around for some time to some. I'd suggest that you give him a video of some of his friends, (the guys) making sure that they keep it a secret and that only his good friends are included on the tape. Maybe they can be doing something throwing a ball back and forth if that's what they do a lot of while they say what they think of him , use some imagination. Make sure that he knows that you are the creator/producer/etc. of this film. Putting something like this together for him should be something he will appreciate and something he can keep forever and look back on. You can also start a sort of time capsule box with some keepsake things in it from this time for him to have later in years. The tape being one thing to put in the capsule.

If he likes to read then you can give him something educational and technical books. I hope he appreciates it. It doesn't have to be something expensive, what is important is you give from the heart and you have remembered him on his special day.

i've been in your shoes before and i have the same problem with u.as i also will turn 18 soon, i think u might consider your budget and the kind of things he like..does he like music?u can buy him a cd of his favourite band..or maybe if he like to collect something..add something new to the collection or simply buy hi any merchandise for the upcoming world cup...i think it's the thought that count..or maybe u can disscuss with your friends and buy a big present which from all of you.

Its nice that you have decided to buy a gift for your friend. May be you could buy a cute wooden plaque similar to this (http://www.mindbank.com.sg/catalog/images/p4.jpg)so that your friend can proudly display it in his showcase, not only that it will make him remember you when ever he see it, that is good way to cement your friendship. hope it helps

I think u must be very closed to this friend of yours, and thus u are racking your brains over what to give him.. hehe ^_^ I guess u should give him a watch.. so that, he can always be wearing it, and everytime he looked at it, he will be reminded of u, as well as the happy times spent together in high school.. OF course, not forgetting, take time to contact u again, to make the whole friendship last forever ^_^

Can you not figure out what he might want based on your conversations with him? What are his interests? If nothing the two of you talk about has given you a clue, why not speak with his family to see if they can give you any ideas?

How about a local trip to some place both of you enjoy. No one else around except the two of you so you can say happy birthday plus thank you for being a great friend and farewell. A day of your time should be worth more than anything in a store.

well, i would suggest that you buy him a good pen. if he is nerdy he likes to study and writing in college is something only the nerds, like me, does religiously. if pen isn't your thing, how about the cute usb drives that come in different styles? they cost around 500 php, am from the philippines, 46 php is to 1 dollar. these usb drives, or sticks as am sure my husband calls it, comes in the form of chicken legs, guitar, santa claus and many others...
