Hello my friends, Have you received an e-mail from someone telling you how much they were in debt and then they found this program where Google would pay you big money to link websites to Google. They tell you they want to share their secret because now they make tons of money working only 10 hours a week instead of 9-5. They will send you the so-called Google cash kit for the price of shipping only. Some charge $ 2.95, some charge $ 2.97, some charge $ 1.97. If you check out watchdog sites and forums you will learn that once you have given out your credit card number you will be charged $ 87.00 or $ 99.00 each and every month. Some people also report small charges of .20 cents that go unnoticed for months. According to Google they do not pay you to link websites to them. You can make some money with Google adsense but it is free to join and the earnings are not huge. Please do not give out your credit card on the internet to anyone, no do not give it out to anyone. If you must buy something by credit card, buy a $ 25.00, $ 50.00 or $ 100.00 prepaid Visa or Mastercard. Once the prepaid money is used up the scammers are out of luck.

I avoid and delete and block all emails claiming anything at all. Unless it is from someone I know, or I know it is a business sale for me, GONE! I could very well be deleting the odd real email, but, you know what, if it was a REAL business contact then they would likely email me again or contact me another way.

Hi Annie, Of course you are so right to do this. I posted this alert because there are so many people online who are searching for an opportunity to either create an income or augment their present finances by a few dollars as is the case for many pensioners. Now the HST is coming in in Ontario and we will pay 13% on almost everything. Also the Government of Ontario is proposing to slash in half funding for public transit in Toronto. This is after the Toronto Transit Commision just increased he fares in January of this year. So, condo fees went up too and will be going up again by about 10% next year because of the HST. Pensions do not keep pace with this, so many retired people would welcome the opportunity to legitimately earn a few extra dollars a month, be it $ 100, 200 or 300. It burns my butt when I see these scams because people who can least afford to loose money fall for it. Now, it is true we as individuals have a responsibility to do our research before we fork over our money or disclose our credit card number. As you know, hope springs eternally and that keeps these scamsters in business. I don't know how they sleep at night. As for myself I have not been taken so far, I check out everything and never give out my credit card number. The odd time when I purchase something on the internet I buy a prepaid Visa card for approximately the same amount that I need, however I have not figured out what to do with the small balances that are usually left on the cards. I suppose they are lost.

I've been scammed by other scams. That's a terrific idea -- use a pre-paid card for x amount (enough for the one transaction). Thanks for sharing!

Hi Joyce, Nice to hear from you. I am sorry you were scammed in the past. Yes, I buy those prepaid Visa cards for anything I want from an internet site. What I have not figured out is what to do with the small amounts that usually remain on the card once you have made your purchase. Some of my friends also get a special credit card with a very low value for this purpose. The problem with those is that if you have good credit the credit card company may let you go over the limit or automatically increase the limit.

I know exactly what you are talking about, as I fell for it, sad to say. Fortunately, though, once I realized what I was getting, and once I read the terms, I realized I was going to be charged every month, so I was able to cancel it and not be charged. Believe me, I read them the riot act when I called, and I don't know what they thought, but they were willing to cancel immediately. It is a shame when people will take advantage of tohers and try to get their credit card information. I will nto do that again, as if I have to give my credit card to ship anything, I will cancel before the trial period ends so I don't get charged. I had to do that not to long ago, and nothing has happened since, so yes, we all have to be careful, as we can be charged for something that we weren't aware of. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I am so glad you caught it in time. It just shows you we have to be vigilant all the time. Don't give your credit card to people on the internet unless you know it it legit. Let's put the scammers out of business.
