Hi mylotters, how do you manage to work less? I notice the number of hours I spend online per day ( 10-14 hours ) is beginning to hurt my health but no matter how I try, I am unable to work less. How do you manage not to work ?

hell0! well, i also spend some more hours on the laptop but 10-14 hours a day on the computer are something really what you must think of, because it can really be harmful for your health. well the best way is to put some limit for you and to know when to stop, and take a break so that you can relax from the onlne things. some other way is putting some flowers or cactus near the PC/laptop because as Ihave heard they all take the negative energy from the PC/laptop and protect us from it. I know it is really true because many people approved it and I also have ehard it from some famous scientists who I really believe!

i spend more hours online than you. i just think this is bad to my mental health as i felt addicted to internet even sometimes im doing nothing just surf boring sites one after another. i just cant control myself. when there is no computer arrount me, when there is no internet, i begin to feel nervous and annoyable. if you have to be online as your work are mostly done through the internet, you should not be so worry as there is nothing wrong with that. but if you are like me, then you should pay more attention and limit yourself. anyway, surf the internet for a long time wont destroy your health.

It' very easy to cope. You can make a plan in your mind how long you spend on internet and set a clock for it.When the clock rings, you get off at once. You can do a lof of other things like sports, shopping, singing, etc.God bless you a good health.

My work involves computers so most of my waking hours is spent online. However, I still do other activities like doing domestic chores. Even during weeknights, I still go out to meet friends. There are times that I only want to stay at home. If I don't have other things to do, then I just go online but my focus now is on online opportunities so that I don't feel that my time is wasted. In terms of health, sometimes, I lack sleep because of staying online for too long. Also, I don't exercise, which is bad for the health so this is something that I'd like to work on.

If i were you, I would just put your computer away and just STOP. Just take a full on stop from it for a bit and kinda go thru computer withdrawal

It is simple...all you have to do is to turn off the computer and leave the house...

You need to work out a way to reduce your time online. What is it that you are doing online? If you are just surfing the net then it is something not worth sacrificing your health for. Start off with a timer so you never spend more than an hour at a time on the computer. Aim to have a half hour gap where you go for walks or spend time with family and friends. Try and enjoy time away from the computer- find a new hobby. Maybe try yoga? If you have an online business then maybe delegate tasks to others. The ideal maximum amount of time spent online should be seven hours. If you are feeling ill then reduce it to half of that. Good luck!

I spend alot of time online too but I'm also doing other things. I don't feel sick or unhealthy. I'm up and down all day. I will be cleaning, doing laundry, cooking or playing with my granddaughter. I don't stay glued to the computer for more then 45 minutes without getting up and doing thing. I also exercise for about 15 to 20 minutes each morning. I do walk to the mailbox each day which is 5 house up the street and I do yard work when the weather is permitting. So there is never a time that I'm just sitting for long hours that is definitely not healthy for anyone. Even if you worked in an office they say to get up and get away from the computer for 10 minute intervals. You need to plan other things around your online work. Or just get up and do some exercises every 45 to an hour.

I have that happen some weeks, too. Some weeks I get particularly stressed working online and it starts hurting my eyes or such. At times like that, I find that taking a break usually helps out a LOT. When you feel it effecting your health that's your body's way of saying that you need to do something else. Take time out from working online to do something that's fun or relaxing. If you like yoga, do yoga or take a long bath or a short walk or anything that will help relax your body and reduce tension. In instances like that, I highly recommend doing some physical activity. Usually your body suffers from sitting still for that long, so get up and move and that always helps me to feel better. :) For every 2 hours on the computer I try to take a 30 minute workout session (sometimes 15 minutes if I'm really pressed for time or in the middle of something) just to get my body up and moving.

REDUCES that!! Sitting for too long. I've already been like you before. Sitting, like anything, if too excessive, will give you a drawback and problems. At least every as hour or so, you must relax your body, do some little workout before continue online. If it's hard to reduce your time to online significantly, you can always start by cutting the time little by little, maybe half an hour first, and if you get used to it, continue to reduce it until it's significant. Now i managed online for about 6-8 hours a day, compared before 10-12 hours like you. At holidays, sometimes, i take a break from online, just updated my status.

Simple, just manage your time properly.. It doesn't mean that you have to quit, but just a little discipline.. I go online everyday but just 30 minutes.. With that 30 mins. I can surf, check my facebook, my_lot, and other sites as well.. Then when I'm at home I just make topics so I can discuss it here in my_lot, that's pretty many topics and during my rest days, I just post for one-time..

What is it that you are working on online? Do you have a successful business or are you spending hours and hours earning very little or just surfing the net? Take a step back. Go outside and take a long walk. Breathe in the fresh air. Then think. You have 24 hours in a day. 7 days in a week. 52 weeks in a year. What do you want from life. To work? To earn money? Is there anything else? It seems to me that you need to focus more on enjoying your life. Make time for family and friends, your health and wellbeing. With regards to time working, can you delegate? Get others to do some of the work. If you have to work all those hours and you are earning very little then maybe you need to find something else.

I think we have the same problem. What should we do? Maybe we can engage in outdoor activities. Try to talk to friends who also want to play activities outside our house. Badminton and basketball is a great exercise. Ob course we should also eat healthy foods.

I've been online like that too for about a week already but my health is still okay. Maybe your stressed so your health is getting worse. Anyway you can avoid being online if you go on a vacation or visit a friends house. Ask your sister to hide the keyboard of your desktop computer so you cannot do anything. If you have laptop then ask your sister or your mom to hide it. This will motivate you to sleep, relax and eat right. LoL sorry for some stupid suggestions but hope your health gets back to normal need to earn more money LoL.
