Black is Beautiful

Yes, black or tan is beautiful. But here in the Philippines, only a few number of people appreciates black. The massive advertisements of skin-whitening and stuffs alike distort the thinking of most people. And yes, it continue as time passes by. And because of this, only the white-complexioned people, mostly ladies, are admired and appreciated. I'm tan, and I'm proud of it. My girlfriend always tell me that she loves my being tan. But how about other tan or black-complexioned people? Who would uplift their spirit that being tan or black is just alright? I really hate skin whitening products and so those people whose mindset are only confined that being white-complexioned is the only beautiful. Oh, let me add, I love beauty queens who are black-complexioned like Vanessa Lynn Williams, Halle Maria Berry, and many more. myLot, how do you feel about this? Black is beautiful, agree or disagree?

I admire you for saying black is beautiful. Well, I'm a Filipina and yes most of us Filipinos are tan or brown-skinned but most of us would want those that are fair skinned people. I am somehow been attracted to some whitening products to tone up my skin that's because they say that black is beautiful but too much black is charcoal according to them and somehow kinda pisses me off. I'm having problems in applying make up too because my skin is darker that make-ups doesn't fit me at all because of this sometimes I hoped that I'd be fairer. But above all, I agree that black is beautiful!

I don't know why but I guess your a good adviser regarding the skin tone. haha... I'll better use one then. definitely, there were a lot of side effects on the whitening product that's why i'm very careful regarding it. I use something that is extracted from fruits. It seems to be the natural way. Thanks again for your advices borgiefame

haha, I also don't know why. during our early times together, i always reprimand my girlfriend about her wearing of loud colors of bra. i asked her: haven't you took PD? haha, then I advised her that she should wear skin toned bras, since then, she never used again loud colors. haha

Hi borgie, Actually Filipinos are sometimes lured into deception by the TV commercials acted by the popular celebs... Black is beautiful depends in the individuals in how she/he see things. for Black is beautiful if it is beautiful...LOL

We are all beautiful, it just depends on one self how he/she feels about him/her self. I agree with you though about these whitening products. Of course, cosmetics businesses would produce products that are in demand in the market, as law of supply and demand rules, and of course they would strongly promote them. So it means, that there is a big percentage of Philippine women wanting to be white-complexioned as there are a lot of whitening products coming out in the market. This is sad, but those were there preferences/choices for themselves. I just hope they would realize that natural beauty is still the best. Just very ironic,,some of the tan/black people want to be white, while some of the whites want to be tan/black. Whatever the preferences/tastes of others in regards to their perception of beauty, one shall always keep his/her natural self. The beauty of the heart is the most beautiful thing on earth. So, whether you're black or white, as long as you have a good heart, you are indeed beautiful.

be contented of what complexion that you have there are lost of people who spent a lot of money just to be tan or white lets appreciate and be proud to what we are because God made us the way we are i am contented of what i am now being black and i think real beauty was what is inside us not the physical beauty because it is only skin deep when we grow old even how beautiful you our outside it will fade due to old age

Black is beautiful. In fact, it is the real color of the Filipinos. Being tan/blacked skin isn't wrong/bad. However, people judge tanned/blacked skin people making them self conscious that lead them to use whitening products. If you have tanned skin it means, you symbolizes or standing as a real Filipino.

Hi, borgiefame. Yes, black is beautiful. Both of these ladies that you just named are very beautiful. In fact, my complexion is similar to Halle Berry's complexion. This is the first time that I have ever seen their middle names before. I have seen many African American women that are very beautiful, no matter what complexion that they are. You don't have to be light skinned just to be attractive. And, for the women that has bleached their skin, like Lil'Kim. I don't understand why she felt like she had to do this. She is beautiful without bleaching her skin complexion. She has a lovely brown complexion. We women should all be happy with whatever skin color that we are. I know that I am .

hi there, i am very disappointed with the people here in our place because only few guys want tan color..most of them wanted the fair or white complexion..the reason i think no one is courting me because i have a tan color but anyway i couldn't change this God's given gift to me..I still should stand proud. My beauty and color is of like a true Filipino.

yeah and that is so disappointing. as what i've mentioned, their thinking is distorted by what the media and the society portray and dictate. you shouldn't be depressed at all if no one is trying to court you. well, you can reason out your being tan, but i guess, you should also look into other areas of your personality. anyhow, i admire your being proud of your being tan. thanks for posting your thoughts.

Its funny, because phils want to be white like Americans, and Americans want to be dark like Phils. In the phil you are talked about badly if you are too dark, and in the states you are talked about badly if you are too white. Phils are really damaging their skin though. Bleaching your skin is not healthy. Its not natural. Color is much more beautiful than white any day. Stop trying to get white. White phils look creepy. Everytime I go to SM mall and I see those chicks walking around with the white faces I'm just staring at them. My wife is like oh she looks pretty. I'm like no she looks weird.
