Blog advertising help

I know blogs aren't the easiest thing to do. How did you work your way up for people who have and how do you get a higher page rank on google, bing, and other search engines. I looking for in depth detail to get visitors who will ACTUALLY READ and pay attention to my posts. Also, where can I advertise?

well for blogs it seems as if you content is the number one that get you visitors or you can always resort to paying for traffic and hopefully they come back the next day but if you need a good high quality traffic site i consider you making a tvshow site or something like that i have one and i got 400 hits a day without really much content
