Are western more lack of sacrifice spirit?

I have just read about The Lost Symbol and find that Langdon and Katherin are lack of sacrifice spirit!
When they feel threatened,they just forgot about what Peter had told them to do and told their captor all the secrets which should be kept by them.I felt very sad because of this.
I thought of our great heroes and heroines---Wang Xiao'er,Liu Hulan...... who sacrifice their lives during the World War ?.These are the people we should admire.
So are western more lack of sacrifice spirit?

hi,staroj,i don't agree with you.every nation has its own hero.what is more,i think we us often deminish others more or less.in fact,others are not bad or unhonest at all.

I am not sure about it that western are more lack of sacrifice spirit. It depends how is your feeling upon someone. Western are not like that because they too sacrifices their lives for their country then how can one say like this. We must think that each and every individual loves their own country today and always and an do anything for their country. Wang Xiao'er, Liu Hulan are all very great personality. Thanks.
