in this world there's a lot of churches...this is because when Jesus Christ died on the cross, the wicked people slay the prophets..and the only left is the bible.,the genius people read the bible and understand one principle, then they put up churches...now,,,how can we know if what church is really true? what are some signs if that particular church is true?

YOU have to know what God has said in the Bible. Does the church teach EXACTLY what the Bible says? Does the church teach about Jesus as LORD & SAVIOR? Do they tell you that you must be born again (John 3)? IF it is a true Church of God then they will preach repentance, baptisim, communion. They will teach, preach the Bible. They will teach that salvation is through Jesus, not by works and deeds.

I agree. You cannot simply believe everything you here, even if it is coming from behind a pulpit. I always take notes during church and if I have any questions I write them down and go home and look for the answer. If after that I still have questions, I will contact someone I trust that holds the same beliefs I do or the pastor. I hope Christmas2006's post helps you, this is a tough place to be for many people.

Agree 150%! Recently had a run in with Jehovah's witness...decided to read up on their exact belief since they claim they are 'Christians' also. They do not believe Jesus is 1 part of the triune God, they believe he was a created being, some say the Archangel Michael. They claim John 1:1 should read "...the Word was A god" implying he was less than God the Father. This is about the closest any other religion comes to Christianity with all others being a gross departure from it. JW also does their own translation of the Bible & have stated nobody can come to a saving grace without it...that is what really nailed it for me, when they put their faith in flawed humans as a means to promote their religion. The Holy Spirit guides us into Truth, that is how we can be sure if something doesn't align itself with the Bible.
