Hi friends, I was using windows XP service pack 3. My system is attacked by several viruses and now i like to format my system. By installing windows service pack 3, we doesn't need motherboard for audio and video drivers. Is it true. Happy Mylotting. Have a nice day.

your question is not right. motherboard has nothing to do with windows, service packs or any other thing. motherboard has hardware for audio and video and you need drivers to use the hardware. windows is totally independent of these. windows does bring with it some hardware drivers but installing service pack does not mean "you dont need motherboard". this is incorrect statement.

It depends whether your graphics and sound cards are built into the motherboard or not and whether the drivers for these devices are included in WinXP SP3. It is always wise to have the latest drivers for all your hardware to hand when installing or reinstalling Windows, regardless of whether drivers are included on the Windows disk or not.

cognoscentethelegend, I think what you really need to do here, is install an original copy of anti virus software program and clean up your computer of the viruses and malwares. Even if you have reformatted and reinstall your computer, you will still need the anti virus software to protect your computer. So, take care and do the needful here.

Do you want to say that you don't need anymore a video and a sound card on your computer ? It's probably an interesting experience, and I am sure you can also in this case remove the keyboard, the mouse and the screen . Seriously, no, hardware is important, and you need video components to see something on your screen, and sound components to hear something. An OS will nether replace them. Have a nice day.

Are you mad. If we install windows service pack 2, we need drivers CD to make the screen effects and audio driver softwares should install to take effects, but that's not in the case of service Pack 3. Is it true or not?

You speak of a motherboard, not of drivers, so I replied to your question . The drivers you need rely on your hardware, and you need drivers anyway. There is an included driver pack in SP3, for graphic cards, sound cards and mass storage devices. You can use them by default, but I think it's better to use the proprietary drivers when have them. So it's true, it can be useful, but it's not the best solution. Am y mad now ?
