Autographed books?

Do you have any books autographed by the author? Up until now I only had a few and they were books I'd gotten from the author. None of them were really well-known. But awhile ago I got to go to a Peter S. Beagle book signing and I got an autographed copy of The Last Unicorn. (It's actually my third copy of The Last Unicorn... I love that book so much.)
So have any of you got books autographed by the author? If not, what book would you want to get autographed by the author?

Yes, I also have a few autographed books, that I cherish. One book in fact, I had signed by Gene Hackman. He team wrote a book called "And then there were None" It is a murder mystery.
I have to admit though, I was not that impressed the book was not well written. It needed more work, you could tell that they rushed the story line.

I brought a book at Booksale (it sells second-hand books) and it was about tips on making a job interview 'right'. I just discovered that it has an autograph of the author when I was already halfway reading it. The signature and message was at the second or third page of the book and I was amused at myself because I was not able to recognize it immediately. I felt honored in a way, even though the book was just 'handed down' to me. I felt lucky.

That's a pleasant surprise. I've heard about authors going into bookstores and secretly autographing copies of their own book. I found it pretty funny. I would love to pick up one of those.

I have a couple so far. I have one I ordered on line and when I got it in the mail it had been signed! Then my friend just published his first book and I asked him to sign my copy for me!

The Last Unicorn!? I remember seeing an animated movie of the same title when I was a kid. I loved it so much! I wonder if it was based on that book?
Anyways, I only have 1 book autographed by its author. It's a children's picture book called "The Family of Ree." I don't think the author is that well know of a guy, but when I was in elementary school, he came to my school for some sort of presentation, and that's when I got my copy signed.

Yes, it was based on a book. I saw the movie when I was really young... I think 2. It ruined me. I've been obsessed with unicorns ever since! I first read the book when I was around thirteen. As an avid reader and a big fan of the movie, I felt obligated. I love the book even more. It's not all that different, but if you like the movie then I'd definitely recommend reading the book.
I had a few books signed by authors who came to my school. None of them were very well know. I don't remember even liking the books all that much. I was really excited when I got to meet Peter S. Beagle and get a signed copy of The Last Unicorn.

I recently went to a Jodi Picoult book signing, so have a signed copy of House Rules. Otherwise I have a few signed autobiographies. I can think of Geri Halliwell's and Leslie Caron's also Anneke Wills & all of those are very good reads.
