What does the extra clip after the closing credits in Iron Man 2 mean?

Hey guys! I just watched Iron Man 2 today and I thought it was so great. And we were told to wait until the closing credits, so we did in anticipation that something funny would happen. So we waited for a long time only to find out that you'll just see a 10 second clip that we don't understand. What does it mean? Who did they find?

I wonder how you wanted your question answered without it being spoiled. Anyway, I think its expected that someone is really going to spoil it for you. I mean not intentionally but maybe just giving you the answer to your query. Well, the thing they found in the field was Thor's hammer. Thor is not a villain, he's a hero. The end of the story in Iron Man 2 is like telling us that the next movie Iron Man is going to have is an alliance from other Superheroes like Thor.

Oh so that was Thor. We were trying to figure out which superhero was out there. I heard about him, but I didn't know that Thor's the one with the hammer. Thanks! :)

I've not seen Iron Man 2 yet but working in the industry and knowing what is going on with all these Marvel movies I would hazard a guess that it is a teaser to a future movie about "Avengers" where many of these marvel super heros join forces. They had one in the first Iron Man movie and I am sure there was one in Hulk as well. If you visit the Marvel website (http://marvel.com/) and search Avengers you will find some more information.

I've heard about this a long time ago. It makes me wonder when they would start filming it, but so far I'm enjoying their individual stories. :)

i think that an avengers movie will come out that is why those signature items were seen in the movie.
