How many TYPOS do you get per line?

I have not learnt to type according to the ' qwerty ' keyboard. and, it was once a very tough time for me to type anything. Then, a friend suggested an online software to learn the typing skills. I honed them, brushed them, nourished and nurtured my skill of typing as per the expectations of the software. And, today I can type with blind touch, on the keyboard. At least in ENGLISH. now, I have some trouble with typographical errors. I get about one per three lines. There is a RED UNDERLINE, the moment I commit a typo. And, I have to go back to that word to correct. Mostly, I ignore, if it is a simple one. I ask you , how many TYPOS = typographical errors DO you commit per line?

I really don't know how much typo's do I commit whenever I'm typing though. But I can say that I have plenty of typo's everytime I type for I hit the backspace key a lot~ I usually have typo's when I'm in a hurry, but when I'm typing calmly I barely make mistakes

Oh. atleast, I have made you type properly in my topic. without any typographical errors. I think, the headline here made you sensitive. Your using back space is natural. Infact, I have also got that habit of using backspace. When I go to some friends' place, and have to use their key-board for typing, I get all stuck up, because of the different feel of touch of buttons on the keyboard. Anyhow, thanks for sharing.

same here, I feel like I can type a little bit faster using my own keyboard or laptop rather than other keyboards or laptops

Thanks to mylot first that my typing skill is improving day by day.but I cannot type without looking at the keyboard,a wrong practice though. and coming to the typos I make 2 per line on an average. The dictionary is helping pointing them out in red line.Otherwise some of the typos will lead to ridiculous responses. And I do not want spelling mistakes in my responses. Can u give me the website that your friend told u about?I too want to learn typing fast and accurate!

it was really some years before, when I have learnt from the software. I will check my old backups for the software. Or my yahoo mail box, for the download link. But, please give me a week or ten days, maximum. My website forum had given me a big head ache., and so, all my energies were focusse there today. Got the solution just now, and I will be busy with planning and executing some online promotion programs. Thanks for the typos details. Almost everyone here is very truthful. Mylot makes people TRUTHFUL too. ? Should ask Diana about this.

Hi consultrainer, during those earlier days I typed posts here. The speed of my typing skill was really sluggish. I made many typos at the same time. After having practice frequently here for quite some time I find my typing skill has improved tremendously And I could type the words I use a lot correctly. I'm glad that myLot is a wonderful forum for me to ponder over how to make a good response when I come across topics which interest me. Yeah, at the same time to provide me the opportunity to improve my typing skill. it's a nice exercise for my fingers to run freely on the keyboard frequently as well...I hope I don't make many typos here. I don't have time to make any check as I have to leave for my office now lol... Happy posting

Sorry, it took me more time to respond. One thing for sure. After you start working with mylot, your typing skill definitely increases. At the least your speed will be around 45 words per minute. With or without smilies, and for just bragging and ranting. lols. Yes. Mylot is a wonderful discussion forum, and for the past one week, my only breather is mylot. I met with an accident, and so, bed-ridden. Though the fracture healed, I am not allowed to go to my office. So, for the next one month... I shall be, HAPPY MYLOTTING.

Well, it depends upon whether I am typing on my laptop or using the wireless keyboard. I tend to make more typos using the laptop; however I've gotten a lot better at not bumping other keys or the trackpad for the mouse, which was reduced the number of typing errors. It can also depend where I am when I am typing if I am typing and my loving kitty is nearby the typos sometimes increase especially if he is moving his tail. As I've realized the trackpad is so sensitive all it takes is a slight tail movement from my kitty and stuff happens on the computer. Also, I think windows 7 platform is a little more sensitive to accidental bumping keys because of all the feautures that are built in for moving stuff around easily.

How annoying to bump accidentally though, on the keys and trackpad or touch pad for mouse on a LAPTOP !! ... I have never mastered the typing qwerty keyboard, but could never make my fingers nibble and dexterous on a laptop or such soft keyboards. however, if I type very very carefully, I will not make any typographical errors, but, the output speed drops. Fortunately for me, I do not have any pets. Nor my kids come near me, when i AM busy with the pc. Thanks for all your responses

It really depends on what I am doing and where I am. I don't touch type so I probably have fewer errors. I probably get a typo every ten lines or so I suppose. If I'm working a night shift and I am typing something at like 5am, then I do tend to make quite a few errors mainly cos I'm tired and not concentrating properly.

you don't touch type? how do you manage then? any special software? and, yes, if you are up all night, and working..you tend to get lazy with your finger responses. Great that you are near perfect with typing. Thankyou ... have a nice day! and nice working shift too.

If I'm not in the mood to type and if I'm tired, I get a lot of typos in one single line. But sometimes, I rarely have them. It just depends on my mood.

oh. THE mood part of it is yours? my comment went to the above poster. Thanks for sharing. I really think, we all should be glad and thank mylot for honing and shining our skill of typing. Because of our responses to various topics here, We are able to increase our typing skill through practice. Goodluck.

I can't quantify. On some days i hardly err yet on others they are a dime a dozen.I don't bother as i can correct myself with the aid of the red mark below the word.I think the software you have used for typing is cool and effective.
