Why is it easy to help others than helping your own self?

My friends usually love to cling to me when they have problems. They said that my pieces of advice works and is effective and I am happy to learn that they consider all my efforts to help them get through.
However my question is, why can't I help myself at times I'm in trouble? I'm good in giving pieces of advice but why can't I advice myself?

maybe it is simply because you already know your capabilities and weaknesses in solving a particular problem. it really is easier to give advice to those who need them than being the one who faces a problem that needs some advice. nobody's perfect, you have to admit it's your turn to listen.

Hi there Cheated Aphrodite!
I know what you mean. Most of the time, it's easier to give advices than to follow them. I think it's a matter of motivation and inspiration, though. Maybe your friends are able to follow your advice because they have you to motivate them and to serve as their inspiration. Maybe the external motivation is stronger than internal but we have to remember that following our internal motivations will always lead to a much more fulfilling achievement.
