Listening to music at work

I could not stand it if I couldn't listen to music at work. It is so quiet and is just like a morgue. It seems like the only time there is noise it is because the boss is around to pester you. Music is very calming and provides what I need to be calmer. I am so thankful that I can have the radio on. I don't have it on loud and my co-worker likes to listen also. The music makes me relax and helps me through the day.

I would like to have music too during work, but it's prohibited in my company. So, I can only put on my head set if I need to listen to the music. My boss had advised me not to do it during normal hours. According to him, it's more appropriate to do it after 5.30pm. You are so lucky because you are allowed to listen to music during working hours.

This is a captivating subject which you hav chosen to share with the myLot community and I am sure you will receive many responses. I too like to have some sort of backround music on while I am working. It does not mean you have to stop and listen to your favourite songs or anything like that as then your work would suffer. Alot of employers dont allow music in the work place as they wrongly believe it will divert the workforce's attention from the job at hand, but I believe it only helps. If you feel relaxed and happy then you will work that bit harder. I trust you will have an enjoyable experience following myLot discussions here today.
