How do we apply on google adsense to monetize a blog? / myLot

The question says it all. I was just wondering on how we can put ads in a blog. Adsense its quite famous and I'd just like to know how we can join it. Can I already apply for it?..my blog is still new and not so many people visit it. When can I a be able to put ads in it?
