Hey myloters, do you encrypt your files on the hard-disk? If yes, do you use some special program for encrypting, or you use the option in windows for encrypting? Do you know some good programs for this purpose and what are the advantages over the little option in windows?

I use winzip or winrar to encrypt my personal archives to protect them from non authorized access, it works very well, I don't like the windows folder encryption because if you have to reinstall all the operating system is so difficult to access again your encrypted folders or files, that's why I prefer using winzip or winrar.

Yes, thanks for sharing, but how do you encrypt the files in winrar archive? I don't find the "button" or whatever. What are the steps to create this encryption? And I will definitely decrypt the folders (in windows).

I usually made encryption with winzip, because is faster and easier than winrar, but in winrar you can protect your files I give you a link on a little tutorial on how to encrypt files using winrar, here is: http://www.avinashtech.com/software/how-to-encrypt-and-password-protect-files-folders-using-winrar/ Another advantage of encrypt files with winrar or winzip is they are compressed too. Hope it helps and good luck protecting your files and folders...
