whats to clean up, they are the cleanest of pets, as long as they have a litter box, and thats takes one minute. oh be a good sport and let him have a cat, you willnot regret it I promise. cats are so darned loveable and not as messy as dogs or birds, yuck, birdseed all over the floor. lol lol get the little ones potty trained and you will be all all set.

Cats are generally clean creatures. If you have goats and other such animals its safe to assume you live on farm land. While litter boxes are ideal, and keeping a cat indoors is often best, if you have enough land, or a fanced in yard, you can allow the cat to go in and out if you so chose. If your husband wants the cat, he can be responsible for cleaning a litter pan. Cats don't require baths, (unless they get into something that shouldn't be licked off) and they are independant creatures. Its a perfect pet, and and can be very benifical health-wise.

I had 5 kids and always had cats. They were never a problem with the babies. I have 2 cats in the house now. But way past the baby stage. I am surprised that you don't have stray cats around. You must live in the country with 10 goats. I got an adult cat from the animal shelter. All ready litter trained. Took her 2 years to warm up to us. We also have 2 rabbits that are in the house. I do think I would talk to him about waiting until after you have the baby about the cat becasue of having to change the cat litter unless he is willing to do it. I always changed the cat litter when I was pregnant but that was ages ago before there were warnings about health effects from it.

it depends. do u have room for another animal and can you handle another animal? who takes care of all these animals? do u do all of the work or do u get help from ur husband or others? think about everything and everyone involved before you make a decision.

Cats take care of themselves all you do is feed them and change a litter box once a week and you will be fine. All they want is love in return. I am sure you can manage that. aAnd the kids will love it.

Cats are okay. They're self sufficient and independent. Just feed them and change the litterbox regularly. The only thing that need to worry if the cat got sickness like fleas, ulcers, diarhea and those kind of stuffs. Could be a bit of hassle tough

I'd say get the cat. Whats another animal? Cats are awesome, low maintenance and make nice pets. Plus they can help keep the mice and or rats down in population. My dog wants a cat too but I am hesitant. Obviously you sound rather settled where as I am not. I mean I have a home but I travel too much and already take my dog everywhere I go but a cat at this time would be a bit too much. If I were in your position, I would say go for it. It will be fun. They don't really eat that much either so is not like it will cost you a bundle. Tell 'em he can have a cat and Enjoy!

tell him that if you get a cat, you can't clean the litter box while you are pregnant so, the litter box will be his responsibility...

Cats are very self sufficient creatures, plus they are extremely clean. There is a huge plus with having the goats and getting chickens, the cat will help keep the mice population down. Also, I was very dependent on my cat "Charlie" when my daughter was an infant. He would keep track of her and would come and get me when he knew she needed changing, feeding or other care. He would know before my daughter would utter a single peep. He only got into her bed one time and she cured him of that by grabbing his paw and starting to put it in her mouth. He about lost it totally and was out of the bed and gone instantly. But he would sleep beside her crib and until she was two he was constantly her guardian. It sounds like you live in the country or the outskirts of town, so the cat can also be an inside outside cat which eliminates a litter box. Also, see if he would agree to getting a "teen aged" cat, one about 6 months old. They are less needful and wouldn't be a problem.
