Hello, I just wanna know what are the requirements in order to have an SSS or TIN number. And how much does it cost? I haven't had a job yet, only volunteer work. But I need TIN number. Also the union bank asked for it when I went there to open an EON Card. Any alternatives or suggestion? thanks.

Getting an sss is really very simple, all you need is your birth certificate and you can fill out a form at the sss office nearest you and file either as a self employed or a volunteer contributor. I file my sss under volunteer contributor, applying for an sss is generally free but of course you do need to pay monthly dues, I think the lowest bracket is at 208 per month, for it to be of any use for you. As for Unionbank EON, I think what they require is 2 IDs, so if you can provide them a drivers license, then a voter's ID or postal ID, I think you'll be able to apply for an EON Card

For SSS you could apply even if you are not employed. All need are the requirement like NSO birth certificate. You need to declare that you are self-employed. With regards to TIN id i think you need to have an employer for that. You dont need any fee for both. Also, if you dont have any forms yet all you need is download it on the net there are free download able forms on there respective sites.

As far as SSS and TIN is required there is no fee that should be charged on you for applying one. I think you only need to supply them their requirements. I just do not know what are the requirements right now. But Birth certificate is I guess part of the requirements in there.

Hi, regarding your question about getting SSS number, you can apply for an ID in SSS even if you don't have a job and applying for SSS ID doesn't have a fee you just need to bring your birth certificate have it photo copy bring it in SSS office near you. Union Bank will really ask you your TIN because it is one of their requirements in opening a debit card. Getting a TIN you should go to BIR office and apply for a number there is a fee of 500.00 when you apply.
