My baby is almost 4 months old ad I can't wait for her to taste her very first food! With my excitement, I can't decide on what to let her taste first, fresh mashed fruits and juice extracts or gerbers? Your advices are most appreciated

I think you are too excited about your baby for your own good. Why do you place your decision making at the mercy of MyLot? What makes you think anyone here knows better then your pediatrician? You need to ask your doctor for this advice.

I'm just asking advices from EXPERIENCED MOM's and I would like to know what they've done when their children are at that certain stage. It would never hurt if I would hear what their baby ate at that certain stage right?

I dont remember what I started my two oldest girls on. With my 10 month old I started her out on Sweet Potatoes. She loves them even 6 1/2 months later :) They say to start with a veggie first because it doesnt have as many sugars but I usually just grab something I'm in the mood for feeding them. For the first 4 weeks she ate sweet potatoes, apple sauce, bananas, and green beans. Today I cant get her to really eat anymore jarred baby food. Whatever we are having for dinner she 'must' have. She still get's baby cereal, jarred fruit and some dinners from the baby department. Good luck and have loads of fun with the messes that are sure to come.

Four months! She should be eating something now. I started my daughter with scrambled egg. She appeared to love it immediately. After just a few seconds, her mouth stopped moving. I gently opened her mouth and peered in. All the egg had gone! So, I gave her more, about half an egg to begin with. After that, she had eggs regularly. As for Cerelac, my daughter would never eat that unless it was so watered down that it could be drunk from a bottle. If you taste it yourself, you'll probably understand why!

It's difficult to know which one is best. My elder daughter started her taste of food from the canned/tinned baby food. I have also given her fresh fruits also. My younger daughter started with cerelac. My advice would be to start her off with some fruit juice extracts and then go on to mashed. Of course you will have a lot of fun and lots and lots of mess too. So be prepared with lots of newspapers and wet tissue. Have fun.

It would be better to start with fresh fruits extracts? I'll keep that in mind. Seems like it will be really messy! Thanks for the advice :)
