What does your teen do to earn money?

Does she do chores, babysit or something else? Mine has been looking to raise money but I feel she is still too young to babysit (she's 13)....so we found an internet survey site just for kids that has paid us twice now-the payout is $10. I thought I'd better share it-it's called Kidzeyes. It's a great way for kids to earn some spending money.

My kids do chores around the house and get paid for these - hoovering, tidying up, etc. and also if they mow the lawn or do gardening. It is difficult for them to get part-time jobs as only paper rounds are available for young teens.

Now and then my daughter will do these but I find myself going over what she's done. Do they really give paper routes to people under 18? I don't think they do that here-I worked a route for a year..it was killer. 7 days a week, 8 hour days..lots of work, but fair money.

Yes, I think it's 13 in the UK you can do a paper round. My eldest daughter did one for 2 or 3 years!!

I won't let her do that-it's for adults...I am a very honest person-I don't want to abuse any of it-so that way she can keep getting paid. But I've been checking into joining readbud-what I want to know is how much do they pay per article view? I can't imagine how long it'd take me to get to that payout.

Oh I hope you will join me as my referral. Is pretty good they pay based on the article word count, so that ranges from 4 cents to 15 cents per article. I get a 1.20 added every day. That is how it works, so its calculated you can reach your minimum in roughly 40 days. Some of the information in them articles are interesting too.

I don't do the surveys-It's only kids opinions they want and they only pay checks.

oh I see, I understand. :) I am sure its good too. I would recommend looking in to scholarship work for teens, I once found that information through the local library. My sister also got money from doing the work and often would also count towards graduation credits or AP points, if working through the school.

Thanks for the info Rachelle. What are their age limits for joining. My son is 17, but is so busy with school and sports that he does not have time to get a job. If he could make a few extra dollars he would be so excited.

Oops, shelley's 13 this month..so she's still on kidzeyes, once they hit 13 it's on to teezeyes. So-then he needs to go to teenzeyes...but once he's 18-they will boot him.
