How many of you do or have dyed their hair and have you had any problems?

I have been dying my hair for so long now I don't really know what colour it is.
Although looking at my roots when it needs doing mainly grey these days!!
I've never been one to go really wild with a hair colour, although I did go a sort of cherry red for a while.
My worse experience with my hair was when I came back from a very hot holiday in Greece, where a lot of time was spent in the pool.
When I got home and dyed my hair it went very green looking - not a pretty site!!
Have any of you had any 'hair raising' events with hair dye.

Clearly, I have never, ever, ever dyed my hair and, if I did, I would just do it in a colour that most closely matched that of my natural colour..... Yeah, RIGHT!!! Do it all the time over the last 4 or 5 years. I haven't really had any problems but thats mainly because I dont give a **** about what anyone else thinks of it. If it messes up, well, its just hair, it can be cut. At the moment its sort of brownish but with cerise, violet, turquoise and Peacock blue streaks/patches.
