Am I not good if I leave the old discussions with comments unanswered?
It's a long discussion and I'm lazy enough to leave it there. I'm responding to new discussions and these old discussions are multi-paged and I can't keep up with new comments since my internet connection is slow...

Perhaps you should put a disclaimer on each of your new discussions that you will not be posting comments to most responses. That way anyone responding knows not to bother giving a lot of thought and details to their response as they will never know if it has been appreciated.

well, everyone decides it for itself, and no one can force you actually to go back and respond to all the other discussions you have started especially if you don't have time enough, but I think that it would be niec if you respond at least to the people who have given some really nice responses and you can just show them that you appriciate it!

basqui to each their own, if you feel overwhelmed by all means leave it, if not forever then for another day, or work on the responses slowly yet surely. Hope you can figure out what you're going to do, I know I've left discussions open that should really be closed :D

New discussions or even responses does keep the olders discussions buried. I've got 900 emails in my inbox I need to go through, it was 1000 but I whittled it down.

i don't think you are bad if you have no intentions of leaving the discussions uncommented and just because you have problems with your internet connection. you can still go back to those discussions and comment to each responses when you have the connection back to normal speed. i myself left a lot of discussions before, my old discussions, just because i have no personal internet connection, i have not enough time to get back to them as i felt i have to make a lot of responses, especially when cut-off date is getting near. but now that i have my own, i never leave a response uncommented, unless there is nothing that i can say or comment, to the response.

You bad, bad person, you! (LOL)! I don’t have a slow Internet connection yet I have struggled to keep up with comments in the past. I used to post several discussions at one time and since decided that is a bad idea for me because I don’t have the time to reply to all the MyLotters who have kindly responded to my topics. These days I only attempt one at a time, attend to that one and wait a few days before starting another one. It can be difficult at the best of times let alone if your connection is slow! Don’t worry about it basqui we are all in the same boat, we can only do what we can manage. Your friends will not think badly of you!

It's never too late to get back to them therefore we cannot really know whether you are bad or not... only time will tell
I have two of mine that, for personal reasons, I stopped commenting and have yet to get back to them. I plan doing it next month as part of an experiment. All of the others have the comments updated, even those with almost 200 responses.
I don't start many because I know that I will not always have time to attent to them immediately. Only when I am off from work dare I post a new one.
We can come back in a few years from now and answer your question here

Whether it is forgotten or not also depends on you. If you go back and leave a comment on it then it will be seen again by many because it will reappear in the 'similar topic' column on the right (depending on the tags) and in the 'recent' tab above. Maybe new thoughts will be added even though it is not a recent issue.
It's never too late to hope for that too - the sky is the limit here!

Yes, I'm trying to get back to those unanswered comments if the discussion is a general one. But if that topic is only a current event or hot issue during the time it was started then it's no use responding back to it if it is already a forgotten topic today, am I right?
Yeah, even after years have passed, hope that my discussions will still make it to the hotspot or topspot..

I was gone from here for 11 months just got back on here after this January so I also have some old discussions with responses not answered yet. I figure out to do the new ones first and keep up then go back to the old ones as some may not even be on mylot any longer. my internet connection is pretty fast so am figuring on answerin all those old ones as times allows me to.

Hatley I am just curious because I know that you are are back in full force here on myLot and was wondering do you have free computer connection in the senior facility you stay in? If so you must be on it all day to have achieved the number of points you have in the 2 years you have been active.

I think most of us will leave a few responses not commented on especially toward the end of a long discussion. However if we have made a good effort to answer most of the comments then we can say we have done our duty. The ones who annoy me are the ones who never respond to any comments on the discussions that they start.

Not in my book! I just commented on a discussion from my email that ended up have six pages of comments and not one response from the OP. I'm fixin' to check the rest of her discussions and see if they are all like that. If so I will not be commenting on any more of them.

YEah, I really have hard time responding to long discussions with many pages... Those are the discussions that make it to today's top or hot..
I've noticed many discussions with many comments but without any response from the starter.. Is that considered a discussion????

I personally think that it is very important that we respond to all of the comments that we've gotten on the discussions that we've started. In fact, that is something that I do on a daily basis except for weekends when I tend to take my time easier on here. Then, on Monday I know that I am going to have more that I need to respond to, and yes, there are times that it gets overwhelming, but it is something that is important to me.

It is not bad to leave unanswered replies. Sometimes answers are getting redundant that you can't think or rephrase anymore for the sake of answering so sometimes I just leave it like that. It just means that the answer is not interesting for you to give a reply.
Many mylot newbies here doesn't read the thread and it makes answers get doubled even though you are asking for different answers but anyway, there is freedom here so we should let them be and they should let us do what we want

It seems like everybody is doing the same thing!! Thus, no worries about that though!! U are starter, it depends on whether u wanna comment to those responds or not..
And for responders, most of them wont bother too much, because even if u respond back to them, majority of them wont be commenting back again.. haha =D
So, what's the difference if u are gonna comment back or not?? Just take it easy.. hehe

It would be upto the host to add comments at the boxes or not---i do not think you would become bad if you dont have any time to attend them.I have a couple of discussions which have more than 80 responses on an average and it would be more of a daunting task when i try to add few comments. Most of them imply the same meaning so it makes boring.great day and enjoy your present discussions
