Society encourages mediocrity

This idea came to me when I was in my biology class :0 We had a pop quiz on cells and the usual person got 100 percent. When our teacher said his result though , lots of snickering occurred. I heard insults like "nerd" and "get a life". This also happens when our teacher showed us a sheet that outlines all of the processes that occurs inside a cell. It was a really large poster and instantly people started insulting the creator of this work. Sneering also occurred when the usual person got a really low score on the quiz as well. Why do people always cut down the tall poppies? Don't they realise that they're moving humanity forwards? That without them , we wouldn't have so many fantastic inventions. Why do people always want every1 to be the same? No better or worse.

Oh , it gives them sort of satisfaction. Someway to improve their self esteem :) These people don't excel in anything , so I suppose this is all they get to make themselves feel good. It's really sad :)

I think they just say that because they are envious. In the real life once you are already done with school and start working mediocrity is not an even an option. You have to be a performer in order for you to be successful. And those people will eventually realize that and will wish that they studied well when they were still in school.

So the general consensus is that they're jealous. I'm laughing at these people now. Just imagining them in the future: living on minimum wage and sleeping in a motel. . All us hard workers will be the ones snickering :)
