Well, I started this discussion as I saw the talents on Pilipinas Got Talent Semifinals this week. There is Markki Stroem and Garrett Devan Bolden who are Half-Filipinos. They are not pure Filipinos but they are proud to show that they are Pinoys and got talents really.
I've read on my other discussion that there are Pinoys here that have mixed blood... Are you proud that you are Pinoy too?

Hi there basqui. Oh yes, I am so proud that I am a Filipino. I am even glad that GOd made me a Filipino. I dont really know why I am so proud to be pinoy. I know that Filipinos have so much talent, and we have so many good qualities, but it seems that these are not my reasons why I am proud to be pinoy. I think that I am so inlove with our country that I love everything about it, the good and the bad.

Yeah, I'm a very proud Pinoy too. I thank that Philippines have good and bad controversies that make it popular worldwide.
Well, let's hope that we gain more popularity from good deeds and not from bad ones.
And add that Filipinos have good talents really,

Yeah, i know. We are the only Christian nation in Asia, yet we are also the most corrupt. We have been putting disgrace to God's name for a very long time now. A Christian nation should not be a nation with so many corrupt and so many bad people. I think that is how other countries remember us, a nation of shame. But I pray that everything will change. Just continue praying for our nation.

I am definitely proud to be Filipino. Although sometimes it pains me to see other Filipinos blemish our nation's name, there are many out there who raise our pride and dignity. It's good to see many Pinoys being proud of their race.

Why not?? Since one has got their own country blood running in them, why cant they be proud of themselves?? PLus, it should be a honour!! And no matter how one wanna disguised, or maybe ashamed to be a filippino, but they cant hide from the fact that, they are truly a pinoy!!
PLus, what's wrong with being a filippino?? IT's a nice country with great ple, and having a world known boxer, PACman!! haha

Yeah, no one can hide their real nationality or blood line...
Yeah, Pacman, He's a congressman now.
I wonder what he could do in the Philippine Congres????
Box his fellow representatives if they don't agree on his proposed law? If he could write one. Hope that he should have stayed on the ring than in the congress.
Yeah, Pacman, He's a congressman now.

Yes I'm really proud that I am a Filipino! I'm happy that even though they are not pure Pinoy they are proud they're from the Philippines. This is why I am saddened by those that are ashamed in our country. I love the Philippines so I will do what I can to help it stand on its feet again.

I am also proud to be half Filipina. My father was born in Zamboanga but grew up in Palawan. My mom is Chinese, but she is French. LOL..
Don't ask me how they happened to get together and fall in love. It is a very long long story. I came to the Philippines almost 15 years ago. I am proud to be Pinoy. But it hurts me sometimes, when other Pinoy says that you are not Filipino. Just because you were born in another country. And I look Filipina, so seems like in high school or college no ones believed me being French and not knowing Tagalog that much. Unlike for my "mestiza" classmates who has a German dad but she grew up in Pampaga. And spoke Kapampangan. Everybody was in awe and flocking around her.
And also my younger brother was almost denied to be given a driving license. Because of his birth place. My dad even explained that his elder brother and sister, didn't had any problem getting a driving license in the past. And the LTO official, said, "Your son is not Filipino". My dad literally boiled up. And he pointed that even our surname was very Filipino. And he is the dad. And it hurts him that the "kapwa" Filipino would say that his son is not Filipino. To make the story short, the official apologized and just said that they were not equipped to issue a license in the case of my brother.
I just hope that bad traits of colonial and crab mentality in our country will stop. Because it is sad to be a proud Filipino when some don't see you as a Pinoy. But only as a half cook or baked version of another country.

Yeah, crab mentality has stained the true Pinoy traits. I hope these people change for good..
Yeah, I know Half-pinays who you'd thought to be pure foreigners but you'll be amazed how they could speak the native dialects. I know someone here in our place who have an Indian face, Bombay Indian, but could speak my native dialect better than me who is a pure blood.
She has the surname of her bombay father.
I could imagine how your father could have felt for having his son not considered as a Pinoy despite having a Pinoy surname..

And my dad and my brother were talking to them in Tagalog. So I think it was really just a part of trying to belittle someone. That's very harsh. I think the LTO official got back to his spirit when the P.I bomb went off...LOL...
...I can't blame my dad for that type of language he used that time...

hi basqui So thats what pinoys are, Filipinos with mixed blood. one should always be proud of their heritage as it is yours.I am not a
filipino but an American from the U.S but I have nothing but admiration
for the few Filipinos I have met. They were friendly and warm hearted, and generous to a fault. what is not to like?

Ohh, thank God that those Pinoys left a good impression on you... Sometimes we are not proud of those that stain the integrity of Filipinoes, keep having a good time with my fellowmen. Maybe you should check out on youtube those talents I've mentioned above.. Just search for Pilipinas Got Talent and have a good time watching Pinoy Talents..
