According to the surveys Estrada is now tied with Villar. Assuming the survey is correct why do you think Filipinos will still vote for Erap even though he was guilty of the plunder charges?

Erap is very popular in my town and province as well. The Guy Erap has done many great things in our province Nueva Ecija, where most of the karaniwan/ordinary folks/farmers lives. I attest to this.

i believe almost everyone who had a govt position is in a way guilty of plunder, which include the arroyos, it so happens Erap was so strict in govt policies he was not favored by fellow politicians though he was loved by much the masses, and this led to his demise as the president. but he is back,, yes he is back.

Yup I still think he also did something for the benefit of the Filipino people. So do you believe that he's guilty in the plunder case?

He's said to be the pime jueteng lord isn't it? So maybe most of those people live by betting on jueteng. lol One of my friend before said that their family lived by despite the conditions of the economy because of jueteng. His mother is a kabo here in our place and that's how they lived by their lives. His father is a government employee but he said that his salary wasn't enough for them so jueteng did all that was missing. He is now one kabo also.. lol

Well, we really can't blame them for choosing their own president, we all have our free will to choose. It's their choice..

Wow thanks for the info. But if they chose the correct president then they don't have to depend on jueteng for their daily needs. And jueteng is not 100% sure way of earning money. This is really sad. Anyway really thanks for your comment :D

I think he do better this time. I think there is something wrong with the survey. Maybe they conduct their survey in San Juan where there are many loyal to erap.

I don't think that the surveys are right anymore. I believe that they just want to control the votes of the people by controlling the surveys. MAybe, I even thought that no survey was really done, because I thought, if survey was done, I should have been asked or people I know should been asked also, because my city is just small and we know each other, but sadly, none of the people I know have been asked too.

Same here. So I really don't believe in surveys. They're just misleading us voters. Thanks for the comment :D

i think it's because of his 'masa' appeal and also he gets the sympathy of the people with what had happened to him- being kicked out of his position before.

I agree with you. In his movies he always portrays the hero of the masses much like FPJ. Thanks for the comment :D

being able to fix the milf and npa in mindanao is a big thing. yeah, i still thought of that also. why should we vote for some who's guilty of plunder anyway? i has proven himself when he was the sited president of the Philippines and done only a few to his fellow country men. why do voters wants to cast their vote on him when he only tries to protect are those of jueteng lords and jueteng all over the country? also said that if he lucky win the election this year he would legalize jueteng ,how is that?. this a lot of things to be done in this government and yet the only thing he could say is to legalize the spreading jueteng fanatics? their a lot of more to prioritize like the salary of those teacher you kept on working during summer vacation.instead of having a break , they give their time to work at the precincts , why not give them insentives rather than giving the jueteng lords an income which does not involve efforts. sir , if you really wants a position in the government you better think not once but twice!

well, erap is still popular. it means that there is a great need to do voter's education to do responsible and wise voting. but erap's popularity has declined tremendously compared to his 1998 election. i think many people have seen his undemocratic ways of governance. with the survey results, it calls for more focused and targeted audience for drive of responsible voting. otherwise, we will put people in power who do not deserve to be in power.

Yup I agree with you. His win in the 1998 election is a landslide and there's no doubt he didn't cheat his way to the malacanang. But at least now he's not as popular as before. And really hoping that those rooting for him will think again and will vote for a more deserving candidate.

i really don't know why they will vote for a guy that admitted to accepting jueteng money. i don't know why he is a favorite among the masses it is really weird for me.

Yup we feel the same. Its either the survey is a bogus or some Filipinos do not really think. Thanks for the comment :D

Erap is a popular showbiz personality. He was a movie icon ever before he became a professional politician. His roles always portrays him as "pro-poor" or "belonging to the poor" even though in reality his family is middle class and suddenly became very rich when he became the mayor of San Juan (read between the lines). Erap exploited his popularity. Nothing wrong it. He could have used it to become a true President of the masa. Instead, he squandered it on his corrupt deals with his padrinos and jueteng kickbacks. A lot of Filipinos still believes in him and this was proven with the result of the last election. Many poor still see Erap as their savior, even though it's only an illusion.
