So much information is given on a politician's public standing. So many issues to contend with. Do you think we should know all the personal details of those we elect into office?

Privacy should be respected but that politicians publicly declare to be immediately criticized

I think that people and the media often go to far. Everyone is entitled to privacy. The only time I see the need is if the activity is illegal. As far as politicians are concerned then how they stand on issues should be public. Being in the public eye unfortunately seems to make you a target. It could continue to effect more and more individuals. There are those who would love to know everything about the teachers who teach our children. Or the Doctors we put our care into. The list could go on and on. Let everyone enjoy their private life in private.

Where do we draw the line between public and private? Do we go too far?

Personally if their personal life isn't influencing bad decisions in their politics then i don't see how it's the right of the public to know about. I mean, it's the same as demanding to know the private life of teachers before they're allowed to teach. It's just not necessary.

What seems necessary isn't always how life is viewed. Being in the public eye has its downfalls as well as its rewards.

Yes I do think we need to know the details of a politicians life. If he/she has affairs I want to know as it show his/her faithfulness to his family and his constituents. If he/she can't be trusted to be faithful to his/her spouse then he/she isn't trust worthy and I want to know so I won't vote for him/her. I also want to know his or her business practices because a politician not doing the right thing in his/her business practices is not trust worthy. I also want to know who he /she hangs out with for a person is known by the company they keep. These are things that tell us what kind of person we are possibly voting for. A preacher once told us that if you don't want a thing known by the public don't do for it will surely become public knowledge if you are in the lime light as politicians are.

now really intimate details like what foods he likes how m any times he goed potty arent those a bit much, why would you want all a politicians personal life details, the word personal should be a clue as to back off as we would not would to ecpose our own private personal lives. I would not want to tell everybody in the public my personal habits, thats why they are personal.

It's true. There are some personal issues that should stay personal. Thanks for the input.
