Have you ever thought of home schooling your children? Have you ever tried to homeschool, but it did not work out for your family? Are you homeschooling now? I only ask these questions because this seems to be something that alot of parents are doing now a days. They dont agree with some of the things that are being taught in school on subjects like being gay, praying has been taken out, evolution and other types of things. With some of the new things that are being allowed to be taught in school, I too have thought about homeschooling but I do not really know if I am ready to jump into that type of lifestyle.

No, I believe children need the social interaction of some kind of structured schooling. I have taught my child extra that the schools haven't, & it is showing now in his 7th grade year. His science teacher told me my son has brought up stuff that he never would have thought to bring up in class, that brought on discussions with rousing success! They can't be protected from the stuff that is happening in the world. They will see it soon enough! Evolution has been proven...even in my son. He has no 3rd molar buds, our pinkie toes are going away. Today he took his fossil collection into school for science. Please explain the mamoth tooth, trilobites, ammonites & amber, if there is no evolution! Wake up & smell the coffee! Teach your children religion at home, & put your boys into Boy Scouts. They sill teach reverence & pray at every meeting. They HAVE to learn the ways of the world & have enough info to choose their own path! If YOU teach them values, they will be stronger for it, & may be able to resist the bad that is in this world.

I agree with you on the social interaction. But I am totally against teaching evolution ... And yes you are right.. it is the parents responsibility to teach thier children their values, but when the school goes against a parents teachings, it is really hard for kids to really discern the truth... Christians do not believe in evolution nor do they want their children taught that being gay is ok... I am not bashing any gay person... I do not accept your lifestyle as something i want in my life, but i do not hate you for choosing your own way of life. It is all a matter of preference of which I choose my children to be not taught it is ok to behave that way.

I've thought about homeschooling but never acted on it. They are teaching things differently now I know but I really don't want my children to miss out on the whole school experience. The friends they meet along the way. The school programs and activities.
