Twilight Saga...your real thoughts?

Ok so I read the whole Twilight Saga after been completely off the idea of vapires and the supernatural, and I must admit I loved it. But, the films have disappointed me, I find that alothough Robert Pattinson is fab as Edward Cullen, the films just do not live up to the fantasy of the books.
So what do you think? Those of you who have read the books and watched the films, what do you think of them both?
If you have watched the films but not read the books, why haven't you read the book...and did you enjoy the films as their own thing?

I have never got round to reading any of these books or really any interest in vampire books/films.
But I know that most films I have watched that are adaptions of favourite books never live up to my expectations - just DON'T get me started on The Da Vinci Code, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!!

I read the first three books shortly before the fourth one came out. I'd been hearing a lot about them, and though I wasn't a fan of vampires a friend of mine convinced me to read them. I absolutely loved them, and I read the fourth one when it came out too. (Breaking Dawn is my favorite in the series.)
Personally, I really liked the movies too. The first film wasn't as good of an adaptation as I hoped it would be, but it was still a loyal adaptation and I enjoyed it. The second film was a much better adaptation and a superior movie. I can't wait to see the third film!

breaking dawn is also my favourite of the books, but i often wonder how it will be adpated into film, it is such a long book, I worry they'll cut alot out!!!

Yay! Someone else who likes Breaking Dawn! There are so many people who hate it and say it ruined the Twilight Saga for them. It makes me sad.
There's been talk they'll make it into two movies but we've gotten no confirmation of that. I think they could put it all in one movie, but it would have to move quickly pace-wise. The first two movies made don't really have a fast pace.
