Is Facebook Killing People's Ability to Be Social Face to Face?

I have a lot of friends on facebook that I have never actually met before. I have been wondering lately about how I would interact with them face to face. I am not even sure if I would like them in face to face reality. Is farmville and facebook killing our brain cells? I see actual friends less these days than I used to. Most of them time we communicate by texting or facebook. What are your thoughts?

It is just a social networking site. Of course it affects people but we are talking about normal people not the ones that stay all day online in front of the PC.

Sadly, I know people that do sit in front of facebook all day. I do enjoy keeping up with friends and chatting occasionally but I only check in a couple of times a day.

i think so.. because i have lots of friends in facebook that they're active on chatting but they dont talk that much in person.. i think facebook is reverting the true meaning of a social person.. but facebook is a good site to have new friends that you can rely on when you have a problem and if like to express your thoughts..

I agree that facebook is a great outlet and social tool; however, more often than not lately I have been on invisible. There is always that one person who seems to be sitting there waiting for you to pop online. Stalkers lol!
