It is THE intelligent species of INDIA again.. and, no they are not full fledged scientists.. nor do they have any research funds.
They are just two students of final year engineering .
And, it is just three days, that it took them to design the helmet. It is supposed to help you in charging your cell phone in about 40 minutes, using all the conventional FREE RESOURCES... solar energy, wind power.
This helmet also forces the teenagers, and two wheelers, who do not wear helmets for the sake of protection.. to WEAR them for the sake of keeping their mobile fully charged.

that is so cool..
after seeing what they have done with 'sixth sense', i'm amazed the geniuses in India managed to figure out and put together another darn new useful gadget. now if only they are also experts in commercialization, we can hope to see all of this out in the market soon enough

it is not just in INDIA.. most of the teachers, and their innovative and enthusiastic students .. always do make wonderful gadgets with waste, and junk.
But, alas, it takes money to bring the innovative products to commercial production.

in fact, it started a new question in me..
What is happening to all the billions of billions of research funds?
Have you heard of any invention that is useful to the mankind, invented by the collective minds of all the SCORES of SCIENTISTS? .. no. A BIG NO on that.
It is only the teachers, with their innovative kid students who stumble on the wonderful gadgets, useful in many ways.

its good yaar after all we are Indians jugad is our very best technology..
plus whats bad in it as it will only promotes helmets and renewable energy usages(as you said)..
