Ok, Here goes.. I'm a B.S. Applied Physics [AP] (Major in Instrumentation), probably some would be shock :D, and I'm going to graduate soon! I need to plan my steps but it only limit me to what my course is. I really want a course that relates environmental courses but I don't know what to do because it seems that my father doesn't want me to pursue that kind of course cause he knows that it will be very hard to find a job. what do you think I will do, pursue medical physics (most common course that AP Majors take when they graduate) or environmental engineering?

as far as i know if you believe in yourself you can do impossible things.,,if you really want to be an ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER you can pursue it at a right time,,just finished your first option course then proceed to the next step find yourself maybe you are still bother right now because of your father what he want you to do,,just asked guidance to God and he will be enlighten you to the right track,,if you really want to courses that is related to the environment tell your dad because you feel it and you know where your heart is pointed and no one can stop you,,.you know what is right for you and you know your capabilities...

I think i would agree with your father. If you study environmental course, do you think you can find a good job with high salary? If yes, then you can go for your interest. If no, why not study for other course which later will bring more $$ for your living. Previously i am also keen to study Chemical engineering as chemical subject is my favourite subject. But finally I was choosen to study electrical engineering by our government in our local universities. At 1st i feel very sad,but after working, i feel very proud as i can find the job easily with higher salary then other friends. my advise is, try to find the course that is suitable to you and make sure that you can find the job easily.

I think what your father is doing is looking out for your best interest and thinking about your future and I think he's right. What he needs to realize is that is something you may not enjoy doing and what's the point of that then.. if you don't enjoy your job? When it comes to anything in the medical field you're always going to have employment. Take care

Yes he really does think about my future, but I've got to be independent right? In whatever decision I will make, I have to face it to be stroger somehow.

You know what to do, you are just confused. Follow what your heart wants to because it will make you happy. Don't let others dictate on what you are going to do. And besides you are the one who is responsible for your action. You are the one who will face the consequences. It is time for you to decide. Goodluck to you..

Are you graduating from highschool? I found when I first started my post highschool education it was best for me to start with a broad course of study and as I learned the basics took the time to decide which area to focus on. You should do something you enjoy and makes you happy, but at the same time you need ot make sure your field of study will have some type of job market. If there is no job market then it is almost pointless to pursue the degree if you cannot do anything with it.

I think you should follow what your heart leads you to go. Never allow people to dictate you about what you want. Follow your intuition. Follow what you reallt want to do. Its your life after all. I graduated a BS in Education (Major in Values education), took Masters in Education major in Guidance and Counseling, but look what job i have right now? I became an HRIS Administrator, really far from what I graduated. Though, i teach for 3 years in college. And i love teaching. If there is one thing that I would love to do thats teaching. but you know there are instances in my life that I need to decide on what roads to follow. I love what Im doing and that I enjoy every minute of it. So follow whatever your heart whats to do. Goodluck!

Sometimes it's really hard to decide at something specially when your being expected too much. For you, you really love to teach. Hehe, I dont really enjoy teaching because of my temper. Very well, I will try my best to get the course that I really want and then, the rest of the challenges, I will conquer it all(If I can).
