Latest news just came in that a Libyan airline, Afriqiyah flight 771 flying into Tripoli from Johannesburg, South Africa had just crashed.
Details are vivid, but it is believed that there were British fatalities. So, far there is an unconfirmed report that there was a young Dutch survivor, an eight year old boy.
There were no immediate or further reports of the number of dead or injured among the 93 passengers and 11 crew on board.
This is really another sad day for air travels. Just pray that there will be some answers and most of all a stop for these disasters.

Yes, our local newschannel just reported that the Libyan airline crashed while landing.
It is too serious, that after having completed the journey, just when all the crew and passengers feel like getting out of the plane, and meet their loved ones, it crashed.
It again proves that MAN can never conquer the NATURE truly.
Also in the flash news is that the ICELAND volcano is spewing lava now.
Spain is the most affected they tell now.
Let us join in praying for the PEACE of the departed souls, AND.. for making this mother earth also peaceful.

consultrainer,
I am really concern that this mishap is not due to some faulty maintenance or worse an act of terrorism.
I am also anxious and hoping that the survivor account is true.
At the other end, I hope that the Iceland volcano situation could be under control as it is wreaking quite a lot of havoc in Europe, as far as air travel is concern.
