Hello Ladies, I have a question to present to you, When shopping for a handbag or purse, do you go with the most comfortable (as per your shoulder), The most stylish or the one with the most room or the one with the most compartments? I know that if I get a big purse things get thrown in there only to be thrown out much later then anticipated, Then if I get a small purse it's just too small, now I have a medium sized purse with compartments and it works best. My last purse was small and cute but it wasn't really functional, the purse before that was way too big...

You go for all three then. Something big with a good amount of compartments, and also something that is stylish. I wonder if these types of bags are hard to find or are expensive. I've seen bags like this I think, but then again when shopping for bags I go to wal*mart.

It's actually easy to find nowadays but then some are really expensive but I usually find one that is affordable...

When shopping for a new handbag I like one that is made from man made materials. I like a black handbag and is medium in size. It must have lots of compartments for me to store all my things in. I put money and cards in my hand bag, sunglasses, a small mirror, contact lenses and keys. When I go off traveling I go shopping for a large handbag again in the color black. Then I can fit my camera and memory cards in it as well. It is a practical looking handbag that I go for and not a fashion statement. For a purse I like it to be roomy to carry lots of coins in it.

Practical looking is my friend. In the past I've gone for more of the flashy looking purses, but now as long as it suits it's purpose that is all that matters. I can't say much about vacationing, I've only gone twice ever. Of course I've gone to the mountains a lot but that was a day trip, ahha, and never had to bring a camera.

I don't go out shopping for a bag unless I just don't like the one I have, or unless something on the one I have broke. I was given a purse, and then the purse I was using at the time, the strap broke so I didn't have to go shopping for another one. Picky about bag shopping, or just never anything that isn't gaudy?

The last purse I had before this one had one compartment with room for a zipper. The bag's handle wasn't all that long so I couldn't sling it on my shoulder and then wrap it around front of me if I needed to look for something. I think that's the disadvantage I had with it.

Great question! I have found that I need a medium size purse with compartments. I have to fit in an inhaler, wallet, cell phone, keys, lipstick... etc... Jessica Simpson makes the best purses around. She really understands about size, compartments, comfort and durablity! I almost screamed in giddy delight at Macy's when I found tried a purse of hers for the first time!

I was not aware that Jessica Simpson had her own line of purses. I am just glad you found something that works for you, there is a lot that gets thrown into my purse, and sometimes sits there for awhile but I don't like the bigger purses because things get lost. Having compartments for things we might need quickly is also a good thing.

You and i must know one another (lol)---i go for style and roommy, with compartments, but not too many compartments. I had a purse one time and kept loosing my keys and cellphone, in my purse. It was crazy! I would forget where my own stuff was stored. After about a week, i threw that thing away. So now i settle on stylish, big, but not too big and it must be a shoulder bag.

Yeah the handclutch thing? I just don't do. I've not really carried a purse for a long time, I would go on and off with carrying one because it wasn't until recently that I learned how to drive. Now I am trying to get used to carrying a purse all the time, and I've gotten pretty good at it BUT I don't want a hand clutch bag because I would definitely lose it! I'd drop it in the buggy and forget it, if I dont' see a big strap then I am not going to think anything of it. Too big a bag, you just lose things in, too little there's not enough room. Medium has it's disadvantages I am sure, but thus far I've not found any!

Hey Cowgirl! I go for the shoulder bag that is comfortable, at least sort of! Then I prefer a medium sized bag with lots of compartments! I don't like bags that are too big either! And I like to have compartments that are closed on the outside so that I can put things that I need to reach in a hurry like my phone or bus pass! I am trying to find the "perfect white one" right now and am having a hellofa time! I had such a great one, but after a few seasons had to finally say goodbye to it! I wish I could find another similar, but I can't find anything even close and it's driving me crazy! They actually don't have alot of choices in white!

I like pockets that snap or velcro or zip close on the outside to as I don't want important information slipping our, or important things slipping out of the purse. I don't know why, but I agree there's just not that many white ones to choose from for some reason. Hopefully you can find a nice one.

i try to shop for purses with a combiination of those things. I enjoy a purse that has a comfortable strap for my shoulder, but my purse must have plenty of space to hold all of my everyday items... and i wouldn't mind a cute little design as long as it is quality material.

I think I'll stick with medium bags myself, with a nice strap or one that can be adjusted, otherwise I'll end up throwing the bag out!

I go for size.they have to be big.the size has to be somewhat the size of a laptop bag.I also look at bag handles.they have to be sturdy and won't break easily.I also look at colors.I prefer big bags in brown and black.they are much easier to care for and do not require daily wiping.

Shopping for purses and handbags is a fun shopping experience. They are a must have accessory. I prefer to have a stylish handbag to show off my personality. Comfort in in a handbag comes second to me.

I have to have the comfort thing for me. If not I feel I'm going to sling it down somewhere and forget about it. Stylish I've done, but that was a bigger bag and I just kept losing things in it and eventually stopped carrying it altogether. I've even tried just carrying my wallet but of course that is dangerous too.

I have larger ones for everyday use. And smaller, more stylish ones for going out. And I don't spend much on them either...thrift stores in nice neighborhoods have great bargins

When I go out it's never anywhere fancy so no need for anything really that stylish for me. I agree that thrift stores are a good place to go to get some good bargains and nice stylish wardrobes and accessories even.

I always get a bag that is FAR too large. Then when my mobile phone goes off I have to hunt through the lipsticks, keys, glasses, tissues, till receipts, brushes etc to find it!!

My husband and I share a cellphone. I never go out without him being around as well so there's no need for us to have more then one yet. That being said, it's usually in one of our pockets, or in the cup holder when one of us is driving. I think even with having my own separate phone, I've always put the phone in my pocket or in a zipped compartment of my bag.
