How to get a page rank for my blog?

I have started a new blog. Can anybody suggest how to get a page rank for my blog. I created my blog 8 hours ago, but its not showing any page rank. Also the particular blog is not appearing on the Google search. Can anybody help?

The rank should check You should get your blog a counter and an indicator for rank If you want a good rank you have to go on traffic sites or exchange banners with friends I do not see any blog on your profile page :)

thnx Cip116, I had submitted my blog to mylot but still it isn't showing on my profile page donno why. Can u tell me the reason?
