Why is it so hard to find alcohol-free mouth wash?

I found ONE variety (besides the kids stuff) at Target, and I was a little appalled by this. Why must brands like Listerine INSIST on putting alcohol in their mouthwashes? It makes it dangerous to swallow and is bad for new piercings. This is frustrating for me!
Have you ever had these kinds of frustrations before? Why don't more companies choose alcohol-free varieties to put out on the market?

well maezee im not sure if this is true or not my uncle once told me that there is good achohol that kills bacteria and bad achohol that kills you. They put acholhol in listerine to do just that kill all the left over bacteria. I think that is a must in all listerine
