Does anybody else find it a double standard that the Dems say we must pass healthcare that will cost over a trillion smackers will have to be passed to see whats in it. But states that have nothing to do with Arizona's law want to pass judgment before the law even starts. Because of what may happen even though their fears are addressed in the law.
Also take into account the amount of people in favor of the health care compare to the people in favor of the immigration law.
healthcare - in favor 41 %
immigration - in favor 59%
I got this info from rasmussen and pew.

It's an absolutely HUGE double standard. And the ONLY way to argue against it being a double standard is to actually play further into the double standard.
Example as an Arizona basher and healthcare supporter: "Oh, but they're not really the same things. We're talking about a bill that's aimed at making healthcare better in America vs. an anti-Latino bill that will lead to racial profiling."
Even making it cleaner with "an anti-immigration bill that might lead to racial profiling" is still just as speculative as anyone was over the healthcare legislation.
So there's no avoiding it. It's a huge double standard. But it's actually one that's considered okay. Since Latinos are an American minority, some folks view this as a flashback to the Jim Crow days and worse. So they're standing on fighting injustice - something more noble in their minds than fighting against government control (even though the racial injustice is 100% hypothetical).

The law in Arizona has been presented as far different than what it is, for instance they're not allowed to question anyone's citizenship unless there's the matter of another legal issue first (the media has presented it the opposite! shame on them). Imagine not checking someone's I.D. when caught in a theft! I assure you i would never be allowed to get away with that.

The number of people in favor of or against something doesn't matter to the democrats in congress. Obama's made it very clear that he needs to explain to those people what their core values are, as clearly, Americans are too stupid to know what's good for them.
