Is it true that water can be used for lip hydration?

I have tried this and for some odd reason it doesn't work for me my lips are still dry. But I heard if you place water on your lips it re-hydrates them....

adubose what you need really is good old Chapstick as it has things in it to rehydrate your lips as water will not work on the outside of us but chapstick is made for dry lips. I used to use in the winter in South Dakota years back as my lips were always dry there, here in Ca I do not need it. lipstick will serve here for me.

I used on with a cherry flavor and it was really a very soft flavor but it sure helped my poor lips in that dry winter air. here in ca I do not seem to have that problem but I wear lipstick that keeps my lips moist too.

I really have never heard this, but I wouldn't think it was true. I would think it would make them even drier, because it's like the concept of licking your lips that make them dry. So I wouldn't know what the difference is.

I know water consumption seems to be the key answer to this topic

Putting water on your lips is a very temporary solution. They'll dry out again pretty quick and they might even be worse than before. What you need is some good chapstick or vaseline to put on your lips. These will re-hydrate and heal damage. Also, drink more water to make sure your body as a whole is fully hydrated.

I've found lip gloss isn't good to hydrate and heal my lips. It's best to stick to chapstick. I use the original no-nonsense brand. I've also used a stick of generic lip vaseline in the past. It worked well, but I didn't quite like the way it felt. It was great when I was working down in Mexico building houses because it hydrated more than chapstick and it protected my lips from the sand. But here regular chapstick works just fine.

I was just thinking the same thing the lip gloss seems to make my lips worst so I will use the chapstick first....

Thank you I was just asking the brand because lip gloss tends to dry my lips out or over hydrate sometimes thats a good thing....

Water can be used for hydration but it won't last long because your lips dry up immediately. What you need to place on your lips is a lip balm that can be bought in the market (preferably Chapsticks) or you can also use Petroleum Jelly (it helps).

i don't think so. My mother always say to me that don't lick your lips when it dry, because it will make it more dry. To make it better, you should drink much water to make the temperature of your body become normal. high temperature sometimes make your lip dry. And don't forget to eat vitamin better eat fruit that contain vitamin C.
