how many seasons is there to the orignal law and order show? also did you know there is talk of them canceling this show?

It was on 20 years which is one year short of the record for a drama series set by Gunsmoke.It has now been officialy cancelled although there will be a new show Law and Order: Los Angeles. I had heard that Epatha Merkelson planed to leave the show during the next season and was hoping they had a special exit show for her. She spent 19 years on the show but now there's no special exit.
