A very long time ago I tried diet pills and I felt like they were missing up my kidneys and I was hurting. I quit taking them and the pain went away. I have never tried them since. These were over the counter, so I would say if you are going to try diet pills see your Dr for a prescription but changes in diet can make a big difference. Also, loosing weight slowly is healthier for you then to do a crash diet.

Herro dietxpert I have some experience in dieting. About 2 years ago a medication I was prescribed caused a weight gain of 30lbs in 3 mo. Yipes. I changed medications and started a careful diet, no pills. It took me 18mo, however I lost 40lbs. I have found that I cannot change my patterns of intake or I will gain the weight back. I did ask my Dr about a OTC fat-container pill. His exact words, "Don't put the food in, in the first place!" That was interesting input and I have taken it to heart. I have maintained my diet habits today. I am afraid of any diet pills, esp. OTC. I have seen many news articles after the fact that organs were damaged. I have issues, already, so why risk making more damage. {liver and kidney}

I have to be very careful, they found out that I have liver damage from taking my pain pills for my back, so now they are hoping that it will fix itself. I am really thinking about going after that Dr. that prescribed all that medicine to me, its not right that he knew it would cause damage yet still told me to take 4 a day.

Herro pmbhuntress09 I've been fortunate in my medical advice. They say military drs are not as good as civilian. My military drs have been very careful with my meds and changed meds when it was necessary to prevent damage. They also do blood-work to keep an eye on my liver and kidneys. Prosperous mylotting

Some doctors just tell you anything. I am really getting tired of all of the doctors around here, I had my operation and they took out my appendix, only to find out that wasn't the problem it was my back all the time. Which I had told them it was my back in the first place, that was giving me all that pain. So now due to my back being so bad they have been giving me medicines that would ruin my liver because they let it go for so long. I told Juan I need to actually get me a good lawyer and have them working on making them pay me for all there mistakes.

Diet pills can be extremely dangerous for your health. The pills might not work after a while in helping you lose weight. Most of these diet pills work by curbing your appetite so that you can lower your calorie intake. In the other hand, your metabolism rate might drop down too. Slower metabolism will then result in slowing down your weight loss. So after a while people taking diet pills might notice that they are loosing much weight as they did earlier. So its really a very short term solution to weight loss. The bad effect of diet pills range from heart problems, seizures, irregular heartbeat, heart attack, hair loss, nervousness, high blood pressure and many more. These are reported by people consuming such pills.
