Wat does Core 2 Duo @ 2.8Ghz means???

Its simple: Core 2 Duo @ 2.8 Ghz means you have 2 cores in your processor and each has 2.8 Ghz so you have 5.6 Ghz total processing power. For quad cores,just multiply that rating by 4 to get the total processing power and so on.

yes kelvin is right.. it is dual processors.. and both have 2.8hgz speed.. mean x2 that means the over all speed of your processor is 5.6ghz.. these processors are new from pentium. and p4 had 3.0 highest speed.. that means surely new processors have more speed than the previous ones. so you have 2.8 x2..

I think that each core is running at 1.4GHz , because if each core ran on 2.8GHz , then the processor would run at 5.6Ghz .

i think thaht mean its running with 2.8 gHz for each core as far as i know... the question is, is core 2 duo give you a 2 physic core or just virtual core???
