what do you thinki of hyundai elantra?

if you do not know about hyundai elantra, please do not waste my time here.
if you know about this car, i would really like your opinion. someone is selling us a second hand hyundai elantra, 2004. i like the idea that it is 2004 so it is not so old, so even if we have to spend on repairs, i think it will not be much. and it is being sold for cheap like 1,600$. i am yet to see the car, but i think the repairs would only be around 400-500$. but someone is telling us not to buy hyundai brand. my husband and i also have a hyundai but it is a 2005 getz. it's okay so far and it has been with us 2 years.
i wonder about the elantra though. what doyou think about it?

First of all I'm sorry to inform you that you have posted is wrong place this forum is for life.In my opinion you should not buy a second hand car because its maintainece will be costly, secondly its fuel consumption will be more . Even a brand new elentra gives an average of 8-9 km/l in cities, now if yours is a second hand so you can expect 5-6 km/l.

no i did not post wrongly. i post everything under life as long as it pertains to my life. anyway, thanks for your comment. so the elantra is quite a guzzler considering it is only 1.6. hmmm thanks for the input.

My friend has one. It's an ok car. Can't say anything bad about it.
