This movie is a remake of a Japanese film about an Akit dog's reationship with its owner. Based on the true tale of a faithful Akita dog that kept vigil for nearly a decade, waiting for his master, who died and didn't return home. The dog is celebrated by the Japanese each year, and a statue was made in his honor in Tokyo.
The cast, Richard Gere and Joan Allen.
At fist, I was so hesitant to see this film but since I am so bored. I decided to watch it tonight.
The film is a little bit dragging. There are some cute moments because of the dog. But what really touched me most - even made me cry - was the scene of the dog and Joan Allen's character. I cried like a baby. I remember before I had a dog named Chief. He died because he was ran over by a car. I was young so I don't know how hurtful it was until I saw the moment of Joan Allen and Hachiko.
Joan Allen, when you see her, is a very simple looking actress. But when she acts. She's really amazing. It's like, she puts everything in her eyes. She's like the older Cameron Diaz. Amazing actress she is.
If you're a pet lover, you might appreciate this film. Happy weekend everybody. Happy mylotting! =)
