I am. The prospect of riding one brings in all sorts of bad images in my mind,of accidents, of dying and leaving my loved ones. I am really scared of traveling especially by plane since you're way up there and when something goes wrong, there is no way that you could save yourself, it seems. I am also scared of taking boats especially when it passes by areas that make boats really movable. Oh my. I just get scared out of wits when this happens. How many of you are also like this? Please share.

i love traveling so i guess im not afraid whether a ride by sea, land or air. accident is really accident and we cant avoid it whether by air sea or land or anywhere if its really your time then it is. though every time i travel of course you have to expect the better and the worst so whichever of the two, all you have to do is have confident in every ride and lift every thing to god as he alone knows.

Hi? probadly very scary all movable machine to take on. But we have to accept that we are temporarily residing in this world, taking risk is all we had every moments of our life. Only god knows how long we are in this place. We have to do is trust him fully, pray always wherever we go, keep mind easy and think good thing. Without this things likes plane, boat or cars we cannot go to our families away from us. The best thing, that these machine are very helpful to us even risk we go through, in riding on it, but theres goodness bring with it.

I have traveled on lots of different planes and I am grateful to say that I have stayed safe. One time I got on a plane all passengers got given a newspaper. The front page news was a concord crash. That was really scary indeed. Yes, if something goes very wrong on a plane there would be no way that I could save myself. I know a lady that had rough landing and the plane she was on managed to land without crashing. It has left her too scared to fly on anymore planes. Sadly planes do crash but it doesn't happen all that often. Cars do crash more often I would say. When I was age 20 I went around the world by air. At the age of 29 years old I traveled by air to New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands. My favorite way to travel is by train. It is a safe way to travel usually but planes go to more places. Like I will be traveling to Canada by plane this summer.

Hi there Cutie18f! I am not afraid of plane rides. I take the plane in most of my travels. I am not also afraid of riding boats or ships for that matter. I think I travel a lot that I do not fear these modes of transportation. Yes, there are times when I think about the possibility of an accident but I try not to think about it that much.

I never tried to get on a plane or ride it, but I think it's exciting it's like you are flying over the clouds, and about the negative thoughts you have on riding a plane, I think it's normal. Taking a Boat Ive try it as long as you have your life jacket it's not scary, but if you don't have and the sea is to wavy it's time to pray :P, I think it,s normal to be scared because you really value your life that's a good thing but try ti take some risk, enjoy and happy mylotting

I have been flying since the age of 2. Since the 9/11 attacks, alot of people have raised concerns. I flew for the first time in 6yrs in March and was so nervous but excited as soon as the plane took off. Loved it!

I am. I am happy taht I am not alone being scared with this things. I am afraid of riding planes even I don't experienced it , because i am afraid of heights. I hate being up and the feeling up there means I am very far from land. If something goes wrong up there there is no way you can save yourself unless if you have a parachute. Maybe I will not die of falling down from up, but from heart attack. i dislike boat and ship too, bcause I am afraid of big waves. and because i have known so many incident of accident in the sea that is why I am scared. Although sometimes I want to feel the feeling if you are in the middle of the sea.

See, accidents can happen anywhere even without flying.Suddenly the place you are at now could tremble and crumble down because of an earth quake.Even if you walk on the road some accident without your intervention can also take place. So if we were to look for dangers they are lurking in from any place and time let alone through flying in the plane. As for me one specific complaint that I have is nauseating feeling whenever the plane takes elevation or downward motion all of a sudden. But everything gets right some time.

not really. i love plane rides! i even wanted to be a pilot at one point of my life. but i did get scared that one time i was flying on a small aircraft. i've never really flown on a bombardier aircraft, i'm used to flying on big planes. that time it was raining and it was a different airline than i always use. it's a much smaller plane and an airline that isn't well-trusted yet here in my country. the ticket was really cheap so my friend and i decided to try it. anyway, it was scary because prior to that plane ride, i've been watching a lot of aircraft investigation in national geographic. most of they're cases are on small aircrafts so whenever the plane would turn on that plane ride, i squirmed a little on my seat. but aside from that, no frights on airplanes! i suggest that you stay away from the show i mentioned as it would probably scare you more.

I'm not afraid of riding on planes or taking boats. I suppose part of that is because we have not been given a spirit of fear (that's in the Bible) and because I believe that you're not going to die until it's your time, so why be afraid. I wonder, did someone teach you to be afraid, or is it just part of your makeup?

i can count myself lucky that i experienced plane rides when i was quite young. once upon a time it was something that was fun and exciting. now it's just like any other mode of transportation which gets me from point A to point B. so i'm quite comfortable with plane rides. boat rides are fun too, but it would take too long for me to get to my destination if i'm on a business trip

Yes, I am phobic about going on a plane and at the age of 40, I have never been on one. I think it is quite a common fear and as I am scared of heights too, it makes sense. I think I might try to overcome it though, as I really want to go to Berlin next year, so we'll see.

I must say I never used to be concerned, but tomorrow I have to fly for the first time in some months, and I am just a little concerned about the apparent goalpost shift re acceptable ash levels. If it was dangerous enough to ground half a continent a week ago, how come now it's safe... who decides and on what basis? I know the cancellations cost billions, and worry that finances are weighing too heavily on the decisionmaking process

I was not afraid before, but I have been getting increasingly scared of things as the times seem to be getting more violent.

....Hi Cutie18f, No, I am not afraid of plane rides, just afraid of plane crashes. "o) When I take a plane, the one thing that bothers me, besides the smell sometimes, is the takeoff, and the what I call the "jerk back". It seems that the plane gets pulled back or something when we take off. After that occurs I am usually fine. It has been shown that plane rides are safer by far than riding in an automobile, because the chances of the plane crash are so much less probable that an automobile accident. So you are actually much safer, statistically in a plane than in a car. Now if your number is up (sorry), then forget the stats. But you can see, there are many more car accidents and deaths than plane crashes, even though there are many more people on the planes. So don't fret, when you get on a plane, see yourself landing safely and walking off the plsane. That's what I do. If you think about it we create fear, fear is nothing, it has no life, we give it life by embracing it. Send it away, whatever you fear, if you don't wrap yourself up in it, it will leave you, don't give fear a home. Free your mind. You will be a happier person. "o) Take good care.

generally i dont have any issues with riding planes. however there was this one time when i had a panic / anxiety attack, and manila to norway. just a few hours from takeoff, i had this attack and i thought i was gonna lose my mind! super weird but i really dreaded it and i was crying. going back though i felt better especially since i was in business class going back hahah but still, that was probably the worst thing that happened to me. i havent had any long flights after that so i dont know if i'd experience that again.

I'm really afraid of plane rides too,but I think the God will save me,all the fears are vain to us.beacause I like travelling ,so sometimes i have to choose plane as my means,we have on other ways to choose if the distance is long, that's all, have no choice.
