If yes, than what is it? And why you chose that product instead of other free anti virus programs? :)

AVG used to be the top free anti-virus but now i don't think so it has high detection percentage but low repair/healing for infected files, better try avast or antivir..

I also heard that is has lower detection rates compared to avast! and avira.

Just like many other never-ending arguments in the computer world, this is just another addition. No need for comparison. Each one of them have their pros and cons.. But from my experience i would suggest .. Avira Antivir- for a light memory and cpu print ( less resource usage) Avast - if u dont care about resources... Norton - I won't touch it with a 100 foot long pole Comodo - Ok fine lies in between Avira and Avast... U know u can give everything a try. :-)

I am using a free antivirus. My antivirus is AVG. Well, it is not really free. the one I use is a paid one but I got it for free. I recommend AVG. It is reliable and updated. No need to explain the software. Onced you had it, you will like it. The Cons of this is you need to update it regularly.

I'm using free avira Anti-virus. Its great it scans fast without having any error or misread files, it also has a guard which prevents worms from spreading to your system, it also foot take too much ram unlike other anti-virus. I've tried Avg but i think it's not that strong anti-virus cause i had my computer reformated because of a trojan that Avg can't detect. And now i'm using avira for 1 year now and my system is virus free, just update everyday so your anti-virus engine is always up to date..

well, seems like a lot of respondents are saying AVG is the way to go. i'm using it myself and i'd recommend it as a free Anti Virus program that would give adequate protection for your system. but AVG has a lot of cool additional stuff that you may need to purchase to use. but do check it out. it may be worth it hope this helps

yes, i've been using microsoft's security essential antivirus, first it is very reliable, second i want to maximize my investment for purchasing a legit os from microsoft (windows xp home edition) it is expensive and i have to juice out every product available for the original software i purchased.

I`m using AVG free edition. When i`ve found that antivirus, i was so happy, because it`s free ,and i`ve heared then that it`s pretty good. It has a lot of feautures such as : link protection, antivirus, anti-spyware, e-mail scanner, and so much other that some other paied antiviruses don`t provide. If i`ll scan the computer once/week, i don`t have any problem at all with viruses, and i think that i`m going to visit 1000 different websites every day.

I am using a free AVG and it is performing very good on my laptop so no need to buy the original version though it will be wonderful to have it on my laptop but for the time being this one is doing well.

There is no perfect antivirus. Under Windows I use Avira free and CIS firewall (a firewall is useful against hackers but also against trojans not seen by your antivirus). I check once a month my Windows disks under Linux with XF-Prot (F-Prot is commercial under Windows, but free for personal use under Linux) booting from a Live CD.

I have used many anti viruses free and paid both. I have finally settled for Avast antivirus ‘Home Edition’. It is very effective; free available and it does not affect your computer speed. Free download is available on the internet.

Wow. There are various of antivirus being used.. Hmm, I used NOD32. My boyfriend is the more techi of both of us and he think NOD is good. Anyway, so far, my computer's ok. I haven't really encountered any deadly virus out there considering I always download stuff. :D

I use the comodo free antivirus . It was the first free antivirus that I came across while searching the net . It is good and responsive against viruses . It also releases free updates at regular intervals . This helps it fighting newer threats . But this free version is a strip down of the paid version . It does not provide all the functionality of the full version . But still , it is suited for a home user .

I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials.. Because MSE have beaten free competitors like AVG (version 8.5 tested, not 9.0), Avira, and Avast, it also posted test scores equal to or better than a dozen antivirus programs you'd have to pay for. So I suggest MSE.. For my linux machine I prefer Clam. For less resource usage increased detection rate..

Hello fried!! I am also using same anti virus which you are using.. Avast... I have trust in this software as I am using it from last 5 years and detects the virus immediately in my system as I open the folder or insert pen drive.. Moreover, if you are using the latest anti virus from Avast, then you would have seen the big difference from past... It was always good and now its really more powerful than ever and now its color and everything has changed.... I liked the changes made by the company...Also it is secure as it gets updated several times by itself without slowing down the system.. Have nice time dear friend!! Happy myLotting!!
